“No tax on tips” should not be on this list. It’s not an automatic applause type issue.

If it passes, okay, fine. The tip for service industry gets a big tax break.

But why them and not the maids, the garbage men, the blue collar workers, the cooks, the maintenance men, the roofers, the laundry services, etc, etc.

A lot of service industry folks are paid under minimum wage because they receive tips.

How is it baiting? All they have to do is agree with positive things for America? You can be a political opponent and admit the other side has good points. You don't have to take the 180 degree opposite side on every single issue. That's what children do. Children being obstinate or they really do hate positive things for America. One or the other.

It’s really a message to the republicans.

“I keep winning and you keep having new virtues that obstruct the mandate. Come win with me this time”.

One (well, two) of those is not like the others. The overtime, tips pandering doesn't move the needle for me.

Yes, but with tips (for most), depending on the job, they make way more than minimum wage. Decent restaurant and coffee shop locations have workers that make over $20/ hour. Strippers make big money.

Everyone knows that a college student can make decent money working part time while in school while earning tips at Joe’s taco shop.

The restaurants that are a small step above fast food make less, but the owners know they have to make the pay worthwhile to attract workers away from the big tip places, so they do actually earn more in their paycheck than those relying on tips exclusively.

Look, i’m not saying that a case can’t be made for no taxes on tips, I’m just saying that there might be a more equitable tax change, and also that some people can reasonably be against the proposal. It’s not a standing ovation issue IMO.

It’s also pandering, bad policy.

Tax all income, or none of it. Any exemption, credit, or loophole should be applied across the board to everyone.

Those left behind to mourn the loss of a loved one at the hands of an illegal alien that the Democrat party allowed into our country. Ya know, the same people the left refused to stand for when acknowledged by Trump during the SOTU.
