MAGA in it's Trump ish current form is probably dead. I think the party goes in a new direction here pretty soon.

Rs are going to get beat (probably badly) in the midterms and that's when you'll really see vultures swarm in and pick apart what's left. Defections (Massie, Paul, MTG) will be more common as they try and secure their futures (whatever they may be).

Vance, or whoever the nominee is, is going to have to talk a lot of shite to distance himself from Trump to have a chance in 2028 and the base will have no choice but get on board (Trump won't take this well, get your popcorn ready). Kamala had the same problem and she didn't do it, I don't think Rs will make the same mistake.

Trump basically abandoned MAGA so MAGA is going to go the way of the Tea Party. The uniparty wins again.

Yep, MAGA is long gone if it ever truly existed.

100% ... We think their unhinged TDS behavior and the shenanigans over the last decade are just because of Trump? It's more than that now. Whoever on the right steps up into Trump's vacated spot, will 110% be the new Hitler, fascist, white supremacist Nazi. They are already licking their chops at it being JD. They will be even worse toward him. We're in a soft civil war.

Because like most on the left, and many on the right (see Roger, TDSFP, Bunk etc.), they are afflicted with TDS and obsessed with their hatred of Trump and Trump supporters.

MAGA is Trump basically.

When Trump goes, MAGA goes. We'll almost certainly get something that replaces it though and we may not even notice a difference.

Trump has done a lot of great things for America in this term

However, he has abandoned many of his campaign promises he championed under MAGA. No thinking person who has been paying attention would deny that,

Not particularly, but that is the topic of the thread. If you are too stupid to contribute, then perhaps you shouldn’t be embarrassing yourself like that.

Trump went on TV and called you stupid before saying he wants to replace you with H1B.

MAGA is dead.

That doesn't mean people aren’t grateful for the many, many good things Trump did. They’re just not dumb enough to believe it was enough.

America First is not necessarily far right. They are populists. It’s the joining of the Bernie and MAGA populists with a new Gen Z energy.

In another year or so, the cretin establishment will come out of hiding and throw bombs on MAGA.

Had Trump kept his word and taken care of Americans first instead of giving welfare to other countries, perhaps it would have lived on. Had high hopes for the guy initially but he's selling us out left and right now.

Which is collective (left wing) and requires activist government (left wing.)

Label it however you want. There is always an underbelly of a populists ebbing and flowing to the top of political influence. Buchanan, Perot, Tea Party, Bernie, MAGA, etc. I’m just generally defining here the next populists iteration as America First: Bernie and MAGA populists with an injection go Gen Z energy.

The problem with populism is it always veers leftward.

The collective nature of populist movements ensures that.

I don’t think you are wrong here. For example historically closed legal and illegal immigration was a “left” leaning policy to protect labor. It’s not until recently that Democrats have embraced open borders and closed borders have become a right leaning issue. Under a populists America First policy Dems will have to give up open borders and populists Reps might have to give up social programs (SS, ACA, etc.).

Correct. Dems hated illegal immigration because they thought corporations were sidestepping American labor.

The biggest anti globalist protests were all Antifa and left wing commie groups.
