good call,

Rush had a great sense of humor and Tucker has a very good sense of humor although it's a very different but yeah you're right Tucker does more of what Rush did than anyone else although no one will ever be Rush

Tucker reminds me a lot of P J O'Rourke

I think Kirk is mostly issues-oriented and activism ..on campus

Kirk acts as a counter to the left brainwashing that college faculties attempt to indoctrinate into students. Kirk’s strategy is a smart because many students are open to hearing rational, logical, and conservative views. The radical left has become the status quo in academia and is proving to be logically bankrupt. The college age generation recognizes that academia is lazy, corrupt, foolish and dishonest. So they are rebelling against it.

he is fat

It would be interesting if Tim gets a bigger profile in the next four years .
Social conservatives will have a hard time with them even though he has a lot of social conservative views

And there definitely is a trend on college campuses younger people are skewing republican at a rate not same since the Reagan Revolution

PJs writings still bring the lulz and he and Tucker have that Midwest East Coast frat boy vibe

There isn't one. Nobody on air or tv today is even fit to tie Rush Limbaugh's shoes insofar as doing what he did is concerned.

Fokk no. EE is a pure grifter who conned Rush into believing he was a younger version of himself.

Erick is a miserable pos.

People like Willian F. Buckley, Paul Harvey, and Rush are born with a set of talents that seem to never be found in any other person.

I've watched Tucker, Dan and Sensai looking for their own outstanding set of skills. Dan id going a different route atm. The other 2 have their following but not enough to set them apart

I listened to the guys that took Rush's slot. Nope, they don't have it, not even together.

Conclusion: We have no "today’s Rush Limbaugh". We have a collective of people that are probably only there because of Rush.

Trump,
because he took a lot of rushes radio show and turned it into a campaign Rush had the benefit of getting his national program on the radio the same time the Clintons had gotten into the White House and Bill was pushing out Hillary as the nationalized healthcare czar and everybody hated hillary

I mean the right answer to this question is Trump himself has been the closest thing to Rush
He took Rush's radio show and turned it into a presidential campaign and he had Hillary and then Biden to make fun of and Lord knows they were a mountain of material

The media landscape is too parsed now for someone of his stature to ever exist again IMO. You have legacy media splitting time with pid casts and vlogger types. The days of having a single person with that big of a voice are over IMO...there are certainly people who reach mass audiences online but it's different than in Limbaugh's prime when he was considered the prominent civilian voice of the party.

Agreed. No one has emerged to take Rush's place. I think we have more of a team of players at this point. Podcast have watered down the group not in a bad way.

Tucker or Erickson would be the not really close candidates

But, the best radio talk show is Markley, Van Camp, and Robbins. They are the best, bar none. If you haven't ever listened to their show, you're missing out.

THIS! Entertaining, funny and informative. Listen to the podcast every morning getting ready for work. And the Friday Five is a great end of the week break.

About a year ago I would have said Tucker. But I'm not really up to speed on him these days, he has put about 90% of his focus on foreign policy issues and being an interviewer. What made him great were his daily monologues on current issues. He has been going further out into more niche topics with niche guests. Not saying it's not interesting stuff, just not what I thought was his bread and butter that got him where he is.

Tucker is the closest in popularity. Tucker could do a lot of different things. He is very talented. He isn’t Rush in style, nobody is Rush in style.

These guys today don't do humor.

Rush did humor, satire, parodies, he was trying to entertain while making a point.
