We know DeSantis is running for President - sort of - but what exactly is Newsom holding himself out as "doing" in going forward with this?
It would especially be so for DeSantis who could be an excellent POTUS and needs to get his message out, but struggles on the campaign trail. I suspect Newsom would do better campaigning. Assuming he does well, Potatobrain might choose him as a 2024 VP candidate, if he needed to ditch Harris.

I have now voted for Trump twice in the General Election and will likely do so again (even if I don't support him in the primary), but so many of the Trump supporters are as immature as he is.
Trump, while maybe not being a "corporate candidate," is a life-long Democrat with many non-Conservative policies. It is amazing that they, just like Trump, are of the mindset that if it cannot be Trump then they are ok with it being Biden/Newsom/Harris/Hillary/Michelle.
All that said, I love what Trump did and expect him to be the candidate in 2024, but, if there is a chance he is not, tearing down the only Republicans that can keep the Dems out of office is childish.
Attack the left...not everone who is not Trump.
