No to the former, and in terms of "inheriting" a great economy, look a smidgen closer at the 1963-1983 economy they inherited.

Well you are. Biden passed the largest spending bill ever a couple months ago. $3.5 trillion. He's trying to add $1.5 trillion more.

Stop blaming others for your failures in life. You want something, work for it. Or keep bitching on the internet that someone you don't know is the reason your life sucks.

The Government started growing by leaps and bounds about 30 years ago.. with the dumbass Boomers in charge

Thanks for Clinton, the Iraq War, the Afghanistan frick up, sending jobs overseas and all the other crap your shite generation cursed this Country with

no kidding, the economy was so bad it dictated my college major after my partying 1st time..

I chose my major on what would pay the most reliably

This phenomenon of stupid HOLLERINGBOYS attacking boomer is apparently fulfillment of meme brainwashing of these know-nothing pricks that are so willing to demonstrate that that is what they are.

IDIOTS with no clue.

God save you

And I mean that

This is death of society. You are completely abandoning your obligations to the next generation.

We have a debt to our ancestors, to pass on our culture and our values to our children. We inherited this world, we didn’t build it. And we are simply caretakers for society that goes back thousands of years.

When you stop investing in the next generation, it dies.

This. What you propose, is the apex of selfish narcissism.

And it is form of suicide. It also declares you don’t give a damn about your ancestors or your children.

That’s reprehensible.

I tend to agree with that line of thought.

I realize that situations are different. If you have kids that are pieces of shite despite your best efforts to raise them right, I understand.

Beyond that, if you have good kids, and you love them dearly and want what is best for them, why wouldn’t you leave everything you can?

I’ll be leaving as much as possible when my time is up.

I will probably leave a nice sum in the hands of a law firm with instructions that it is to be used for college tuition for grandchildren and great grandchildren

But no direct cash disbursements. I’ve watched lots of people get money from grandpa and go pay cash for crappy sports cars and junk

so my generation was the one that gave us Clinton, Bush(worst of all), and O?

gtfo. im almost 40 and the 1st/2nd year millennial and graduated HS in 2001. Boomers have been in charge essentially since i was 10. As a true conservative essentially an america first libertarian, let me be clear....your generations leadership has fricking sucked!!!

Boomers have been spending like crazy for years and have bene in power since clinton.

clinton, bush and O are all boomers. Biden is actually older than that. In general boomers have had control of the government since the late 80s.

you have given us the 1st gulf war, Iraq II, Afgan, syria and the whoel war on terror.

Boomers are respobsible for the patriot act, the housing crisis and banking crisis of the great reccession, and the repsonse to covid.

you are brinign up % of voting blocks, look at total numbers. of course yall get conservative as you age. you sure as hell werent always that away and most of your gen isnt really that conservative. just when its convienant to be.

look at the fricking growth of the deficit under boomers, growth of the dependence on china, growth of the federal government in general ...........all under the adminstration of boomers.

disability....yea go check those numbers out and see how many more are on the dole under your leadership.

to Social Security going bankrupt when yall need it most.

After reading a few pages of this thread I’m surprised at how angry the boomer generation is towards the younger generation...and how angry the younger generation is toward the boomers.

I’m gen x. Maybe that gives me perspective on both. For you younguns, I think if you expect an inheritance and aren’t planning to be able to take care of yourself and your children you are a piece of trash. You have no claim to your parents money. It’s not yours.

If you are a boomer and you’ve raised your kids well, then unless they have somehow on their own become leaches, then you are a piece of shite for not wanting to give them as much as possible at death.

I plan to give my kids as much as possible for one reason. I love my kids, I’m proud of who they are, and I want them to benefit as much as possible from my success.

Funny, us boomers busted our butts to give our kids the best, with emphasis on private schools and getting a college degree from a prestigious university.

Hopefully, they have done their part and don’t need dads nest egg or want dad’s nest egg, but encourage parents to travel the world and enjoy their retirement years.

Looks like Boomers and the Silent Generation as a group, are a hell of lot smarter than the the other three generations.

Gen Z, Millennials & Gen X as groups are abortion loving, handout seeking, globalist POS.

I am embarrassed.

My Boomer parents taught my three brothers and I the right way though.

Frankly I think they are like the SOROS shill and commiebots. THAT is how ignorant they are.

"all the boomers voted for this or that..." "and are not giving me/us money" "you were in control of BLA BLAH BLAH"

It is so ridiculous as the be completely absurd. Analysis of what these kids are saying is so mentally imbalanced as to be pitiable. I cant imagine how these people have any ability to even think at all - they are so stupid and self-entitled... AND WILLING TO DEMONSTRATE IT FULLY.

INGRATE comes to mind

This article is one reason why everyone hates boomers and why boomers are reprehensible. Mind you, they received an inheritance (their parents also probably read Proverbs 13:22), and was given the nation at peak economic prosperity. Yet they are the first generation to leave it in worse shape for their children than any before in the history of this nation. They really don’t give a shite about what world they leave their children or grandchildren as long as there is opioid meds, SSRI’s, and social security in their own day. It’s a fitting fate they will die alone in a nursing home neglected by uncaring minorities.

all right another ridiculously stupid POS....

Peak prosperity had nothing to do with when we came into adulthood/ The first 20 years or so of that were FAR from prosperity.

YOUR NOT HAVING A CLUE ABOUT THAT DOES NOT CHANGE THAT FACT.

If anyone, it was X that came in at the peak - and good for them even though they certainly could have done better with the idiots on this thread
