That would mean thirty (30) days for Trump as well

30 days is for presidents. Emperors get a full year. Do try to keep up.

Oh, well if its policy I guess I have to agree with it...

It's just flag protocol, not some expression of fealty.

30 days is excessive. What if someone else important dies tomorrow. It will cause confusion. Maybe they will have to lower the flag to 1/4 staff.

Absolutely nothing to do with Trump. Its protocol, and has been that way. Its done for every President

If you want to get technical, Trump did declare the 30 days of mourning.

It's not some randomly generated reaction, its done for a specific purpose. It's out of Reverence, and I'm not sure I like our Nation's flag being at half mass for 1/12th of an entire year for a President that died of old age.

Why? He was partly responsible for JFK’s death. Runs in the family as well.. his son was responsible for 9/11

The negatives of this are????

This country has existed for over 240 years. We have had 44 presidents. 40 of them have died. One month every six years of the flag flying lower honestly has absolutely zero negative effects.

It’s out of reverence for the people who give up their lives to serve as POTUS. Those dudes age decades in the White House. It’s not like anything else goes along with it. Simply a sign of respect.

Jesus, you think way too highly of yourself. NOBODY gives a damn what you think about this protocol.

If you were an alien from a different planet you'd have a hard time telling the difference between how this nation reacted when Bush died from natural causes and how the Brits act when a prominent member of the Royal Family died.

We've had three Bush terms and two Clinton terms in the last 8 presidencies, and Hillary nearly made it 6 of the last 8.

Excuse me for seeing a very bad trend here with these two families and how your average America views them.

Where's the line of people I need to stand in in order to talk to you about your opinion?

Oh wait, no one gives a shite about your opinion either. Welcome to message boards, where have you been the last two decades.

I made a simple post on a message board, stop acting like I'm standing by myself outside of the White House with a poster board and haven't taken a bath since Bush died protesting this. You need to take it down a few pegs chief.

Maybe the Congress should read “The Bush Crime Family” book by Roger Stone ?
