You didn’t actually read it then and are completely pretending. There were multiple studies and there was no false claim in the article linked. So you didn’t read a study that article was based on.

But, to give you a cliff note response, no. If someone is in the mental health registry though, their guns should absolutely be confiscated. And that includes depression.
If someone was depressed after a divorce 15 years ago, would they be able to own a gun today?
What constitutes a person being in the registry?

That contradicts what you've said in this thread.

That wasn’t the point or correlation in the article, TA. I would love to know why teens are shooting up their schools as well, but that wasn’t what that article I linked was trying to correlate to.
Thats the problem with the article. They state, they looked into CC permits and who applies for them. That is going to fall on those who are obeying the law.

I didn't say that it was "good" or "bad." But it IS potentially "interesting."

Using depression as a disqualifier is a reason that mental health checks will never be enforced.
There's no way it would pass under those circumstances.

a team of United Kingdom researchers found that a one-point jump in the scale they used to measure racism increased the odds of owning a gun by 50 percent
All I needed to know about this article.

Yeah. Gun owners are the pussies. It's not the flamboyant, liberal pansies whose feelings get hurt 10 times a day when someone speaks the truth.
I couldn't imagine having to lie to myself in the face of obvious truth because I'm so delicate that I just can't accept reality.

"you guys"?
Looks like we found the resident racist.

In order to get you CCL in LA you have to list if you've ever taken anti-anxiety or anti-depression medication. Technically, taking an anti anxiety pill before a medical procedure could hold you up from protecting yourself.

Ironically, (the Left will) acknowledge that homicides generally affect black, inner city males, but they won't dare pursue that topic with the same ferocity because they will offend one of their protected, "do no wrong" groups.

Which is ridiculous.

If mental health professionals had to actually "clear" individuals to own guns, it seems to me it would be almost insane for one to ever do so for ANYONE. You'd certainly have to pass some seriously impenetrable hold harmless legislation before I'd ever think one should do so.

This will just prevent people from seeking help for temporary depression or anxiety.

And there is zero way to check the self-disclosure, so anyone could lie and be cleared to have their CCL.

It's not hard to subpoena medical records.
I assume this is your argument for having to be put in a central database for gun ownership?

If someone is identified as a paranoid schizophrenic, should they be permitted to own a gun? How would society even know?

It's no curious, it's egregious pandering to a particular group that is hurting them far worse than calling out those facts.
