I was just wondering if there is something to statistically show that this "stockpiling" is actually leading to anything bad. I think it's hard to draw a specific conclusion from certain still isolated incidents -- not that those aren't serious problems, even if isolated. I'm just not sure they have any relation to whatever point you're trying to draw in the OP.
