Burt - what is your solution? I'm not sure I understand. Your trying to win an argument for something that has been going on forever it seems. Your not going to enlighten anyone with your tactics.

Look Burt, you seem to know alot about this whole situation and ill make you a deal. If you admit you didnt have an epiphany after spending a week in the region , and that you have been anti Israel / pro Palestine for some time, then i will start a thread admitting you are right about everything ...... Fair?

I will never understand the visceral concern with religious conflict on the other side of the planet. Let em wipe each other out.

Well if one believes the bible, Israel's problems will one day be the worlds problems. So in that respect, it garners concern from believers.

Curious ... What sect of Judaism are those clowns in the OP's post?

I understand that the same way I understand eyeball piercing brings some people closer to capital "T" Truth. I know you're out there. I know you're sincere. I'm not going to get in your face about it. But... damn.

What is out there about believing bible prophecy? It's not a unique thing. In fact, Christans that don't believe the bible are Chrsitians in name only.

You still haven't answered OP's question. Just quips and weak trolling.
Again why do you lie to make your stance valid?

But sure, whatever. I'm sure the Palestinian Christians are a forgiving lot. "Sorry guys, gotta get you nice and ethnically cleansed to prepare for the arrival of the anti-Christ. I know it's not literally a pre-requisite, but if you squint at Thessalonians real hard... LOOK JUST SHUT UP AND GO TO JORDAN OK"

Well yes I understand that there is a wide disparity of beliefs among Christians about prophecy eschatology and such, but the question was," why do people care so much about things in Israel?" This is one reason.

Yep. Not saying it's not a reason,

Friend of mine who lives in Israel and works summers here posted this.

Israel is here to stay and anyone who thinks otherwise is fricked up in the head, but Israel aren't doing themselves any favors with their heavy handed approaches to the situation. I don't support/hate either side, both sides are fricked up time to let them kill each other or learn to live in peace. I think they deserve each other.

quote:
Israel. You have failed your people. You sit in your cushy Knesset chairs, leaving an entire people under occupation without any attempt to learn from our past and make a better future. You have failed us by spewing more and more hate and hopelessness, blaming everything on the Palestinians without taking ANY responsibility. You have played the holocaust and religion hands over and over creating a golem that has finally erupted in the form of racism, fascism and the complete degradation of democracy. You took no responsibility on our futures, and kept an unjust status quo while corrupting our system of government, banking and social benefits. You will lead Israel to its bitter end with your self-entitlement and greed.
Hamas. You have failed your people. You have invested in weapons and death instead of infrastructure and life. The people in Gaza don't like you, and you have abused democracy to become a theocracy. You have failed in providing your people a better future. You continue to deny Israelis' right to exist and continue to aspire to kill us all. You have used violence when you had the chance to prove to the entire world, and mostly to your own people, that you are a valid government. You were elected in Gaza as it was granted autonomy. You chose violence. You will continue to fail.
And here we are, the little people, like puppets on strings, fighting the wars that were forced on us, losing ourselves to hatred, to ignorance, to failure.
I have news for you all -- neither Israelis nor Palestinians are going anywhere. No matter the past, no matter who was where first and who got where how. This is the situation now, and if we continue arguing about the past we are going to lose our futures. And our futures are bound together whether we like it or not.

Life in Israel keeps getting better. The economy is soaring with tech and medical services companies leading the way, tourism is strong, and security is excellent (yes I know about the current war but civilians are not dying like in the past).
Israel has no incentive to give the Arabs anything as the status quo is golden. Giving up land means they can't expand settlements and could mean a lessening of security.
Nothing will happen in our lifetimes. Israel will become richer and stronger in 10 years and the Palestinians will become weaker and weaker and most will desperately seek to migrate.
