Gazzetta claim Milan & Ibra are considering €40m bid from PSG (€34m plus €6m in bonuses). Contract on the table apparently worth €9m net p/a

You certainly never know but AC Milan brushed this off as a rumor just like the Thiago Silva to City rumor saying neither are for sale.

I'm not sure who they could buy that would replace Ibra's productivity for them.

Tevez or Balotelli? Cavani would probably cost as much as Ibra would.

I think if AC Milan want to compete in the champions league again they might need to sell Pato and Casano and bring in another top striker or somebody to play behind Zlatan.

It would be interesting because any of those 3 would require a bit of a change in tactics.

Allegri's 4-diamond-2 is so difficult to deal with because of Ibra's ability to function as both classic prima punta and number 10 at the same time. His ability to hold up the ball and pick out the right pass to their host of midfield runners was perhaps a bit underrated.

Not saying that a Tevez (or Falcao) couldn't play a somewhat similar role but, and maybe I'm totally wrong, that Allegri used Matri similarly at Cagliari--even though he's a much inferior passer to Ibra--seems to indicate Allegri preference for that physical #9 surrounded by speed. Ibra is perfect for Serie A because his size and strength works better in the limited space defenders give.

The Riccardo Montolivo signing seems to be their plan to replace Seedorf and/or slot into the trequartista when Boateng doesn't play there or moves wider. The jury is still out on him -- in that trequartista role for the Azzurri as well -- as the talent is there but he's into his prime and one questions whether he'll ever show more than flashes.

The idea of selling Pato and Cassano and upgrading is interesting. The attack would certainly improve with a perfect 2nd striker to work off Ibra but of their 4 options there seems a block to selling either of those two as well as Robinho or El-Shaarawy.

El-Shaarawy: he's the future and maybe the best of the bunch sooner rather than later.

Cassano: I believe they have to keep him since he really couldn't bring much money. I don't think he'll leave Italy and only Juve or Inter could take on his wages with the question marks attached. Allegri's slower pace with Ibra seems the best fit for him anyway and when he's healthy he has been a terror the past couple of years. He gives Milan the creative option to break down the lower table teams that stack the box against them. I think the only way he leaves soon would be another flip out that sends him on loan with Milan footing most of the bill.

Pato: is an enigma. I'm guessing Milan would like to sell him but he doesn't want to leave so they're just hoping he finally stays healthy and turns into that world class option.

Robinho: perhaps they should be calling Anhzi?

I think they may end up staying put up top as far as top level talent goes and focus on upgrading quality depth in the midfield/fullback and maybe going after superstar CB to pair with Thiago.

I think Tevez could. He played very well next to Rooney when he was at United. They were both similar to Zlatan in that they can slot into the midfield and be just as effective, especially given their work rate and awareness.

I think Boateng should be moved to a deeper role. He covers so much ground and has tremendous athleticism. Why not play him deeper and allow him to make later runs from the midfield?

Agreed. I really hope he's given a chance next season.

I still think I would sell Pato if possible. I would let Casano go for next to nothing just to clear up room on the wage bill, I know he has little transfer value but given his age and salary thats not going to change. If anybody would take Robinho, and I imagine somebody would, I would probably let him go as well.

How about this for next season:

-------Ibra------Tevez--------
---------El-Sharaawy---------
----Montolivo------Boateng----
----------Nocerino--------

Zlatan and Tevez could take turns dropping into the midfield and leading the line.

I would rather have Shinji Kagawa for the money than Eden Hazard.

Bayern are interested in buying Dzeko but refuse to pay his enormous wages.

I've seen us linked with 3 or 4 strikers and all are fap worthy except maybe mattias Suarez and only bc I don't really know much about him. Squad will be revamped and poised to make a run at the treble IMO

I do agree that bringing in Tevez over Robinho would be a huge upgrade but I doubt that El-Shaarawy would move out of the front two rotation and into the trequartista role. To this point he's always been in a front two.

Considering their line-up, Milan are a bit stuck with too many players that may make them one of the best 10 teams in Europe but are still a big step away from the top tier. I also forget they have Maxi Lopez as depth at striker as well as all those we're discussing.

I certainly see your point that absolute quality in the front three could make the difference.

However, the more I think about it, the only silver bullet move may be parting with Robinho or Pato and throw all their resources into a player at the top of the diamond midfield.

Could Tevez work that deep?

Seedorf, Boateng, Emanuelson and Aquilani were the only ones I recall ever in the trequartista role for Allegri.

They could also use a better RB than Antonini who's solid but has had some injury issues with no decent depth behind him.

-----------El-Sharaawy-------Ibra--------
--------------------Tevez-------------
----Montolivo---------------------Boateng---
--------------- Nocerino----------------
Abate ---------- Mexes --- Silva ------ Antonini

with a bench rotation including:

Cassano (who I still thinks brings a lot against any team stacking the box as you'd have to pay a ton more to get anyone with his comparable passing vision )

Lopez

Emanuelson, Ambrosini, Traore, Flamini, Strasser, Muntari in midfield.

Of course you would, he played in Germany.

With that said, I'm not totally sold on Hazard. I hope he lives up to the hype but I have my doubts.

Or because I've watched both of them play and I haven't bought into the Hazard hype. Chelsea spent a shite ton on Hazard and Man Utd got a bargain with Kagawa.

That's why I'd take Kagawa at the price he was paid over Hazard at the price he was paid.

Just giving you a hard time for your love of anything German. Like I said, I'm not sold on Hazard either, especially in the Prem.

And as a Pool fan if Chelsea signed Kagawa it would be the other way around. Also as a Pool fan you would probably rather have Andy Carroll than Messi.

I really think Kagawa is a better player, even for a lesser price. I even thought that when we were in the running for Hazard.

And you know that the little Argentine can't even compare to The Ponytailed Poacher.

Speaking of Pool, since they took Rodgers from Swans, Gylfi has said he is not signing with Swans and is looking at Pool.
