Agreed. The fee seems a bit steep but he's exactly the kind of player y'all need. He's a relative bargain compared to the likes of Modric and can play a bit more defense as well.

Great news for Aston Villa IMO.
Not sure if this has been mentioned but MON and blunderland have signed former Rangers and Villa defender Carlos Cuellar on a free. Very sad, he was a fan favorite at Villa Park but he found playing time hard to come after MON walked out on the club.

They'll probably sign someone else anyway but, according to rumors today, they've joined Inter and Roma in bidding for him which is supposedly around the €15-18 million range.
Looks like Inter will end up with Samir Handanovic. I think that's a great move for them, unfortunately.

Not that much - he hardly ever played for Man U. He has a big athletic build and is in the mold of Viera. I remember reading last summer that he was the next big thing at Man U but it seems that he and his agent got on SAFs bad side.
