I think Andy is a really good young player but he's got a long way to go before he can even carry Alan Shearer's jock.
Sure, but it was Newcastle fans who were calling him the next Alan Shearer. Maybe it would have been more accurate to call him the next Les Ferdinand.

Of course he does. Nobody is saying he is as good as Shearer. We were just commenting on how similar their playing styles are.

You need to watch more games. When he plays, he is completely dominant. I've never seen anyone with his aerial ability.
His hold up play is incredible. No he didn't score, but that's because he wasn't played to score. In the second half of last season he won almost every single ball sent his way. He then either successfully held up play and found an outlet, or used his huge size to turn the ball and shield the defender. He's an intelligent kid, with probably the highest work rate of anyone other than Carra and Stevie. He was frequently the first man on at Melwood, and the last to leave. He wants to succeed, and will be a great player one day.

Not to mention, you can't deny the kid is coming around to form. And is emerging as a leader on the team.
Last second winning goals for Blackburn, against Everton in the dying seconds of the FA semi-final, a hair away from tying it with Chelsea in the the final is what some say should have counted (I don't, so lets not make this an argument about whether it was or not).
He also flicked on Dirk for the winner in the 87th minute sending our most hated rival, United, crashing out of the FA Cup at Anfield.
He turns it on when we need that the most, and that's what Captains are supposed to do.

I don't think Milan will spend very much of this money.
I agree but they will end up signing targets of Roma like Ogbonna, Astori and/or Destro with the selling clubs accepting offers significantly less than Roma's.

I don't know where to post it so I'll just put it in here.
Apparently Buffon is going to inherit Del Piero's #10.

hearing snoddy may sign for villa next week. somewhere around 2-4 mil plus delph to leeds on loan for the season.
ins and outs at leeds may be contingent on the takeover which SHOULD be completed by next week(been saying that for a while now)

I liked him too, but glad he's gone. That frees up some massive wages. Now if only we could ship out Joe Cole..
