I agree (and Im relying on the notion that he will get stronger)... thats why Suarez tricks are so effective, he is very strong on the ball...

Lol what can this possibly mean? It was 30M pounds, FWIW
Just seemed like a lot from man united/SAF, this is Chelsea, $city or goaldotcom type transfer

lolwut?
Do you remember Phil Jones, De Gea and Young from last season? Or what about Valencia, Berbatov, Hargreaves, Carrick, Rooney and Ferdinand from years past? What about the epic Juan Veron?

. Granted a whole lot of that can most likely be attributed to his youth
He seems to have curtailed a lot of his cu..., er, petulance lately. Should go a long way in preventing him from becoming Denilson

Haha, man united stays around the 20something million range not the 30s over the last couple of seasons

They had a 25M bid for him rejected so they obviously want him bad enough to go another 5M.

I honestly don't want us to go higher than 30M. Huge risk.

Does anyone here actually watch Brazilian club soccer? I feel like I've watched as much Brazil NT as i could (all the copa matches, friendlies) and never come away with a sense Neymar is going to be a bust. Everyone on her besides crazy seems to have a negative opinion of him though. Some still have trumpeted a true bust over the past 2 years (ganso) over him which seems ridiculous to me.
Is it just a natural reaction to all this hype bestowed on someone we've only seen glimpses of?

Just speculating here but I think ppl just get iritated with the young Brazilian hype of the month. I think neymar is good, but I'm not ready to give him a ballon d'or or anything like that

I don't think he'll be a bust, but I just haven't bought all the way in yet. I'm at the "just the tip" stage with him.

One day very soon no top Brazilian stars will leave for Europe. I think the insane prices for these young players is evidence of that. One day, Brazilian teams might compete for the signatures of good European and African players, as Brazilian teams are still relatively poor. When new TV deals kick in, I'd imagine one or two Brazilian superteams will emerge that will have as much talent as any European team. The downside is that lots of Brazilian teams play a very deep line, which affords lots of time and space on the ball for attackers, which is why you get insanely good dribblers that come out of that league. That doesn't translate to international football, especially against European based teams, who for the most part press high up the field and play high lines.
I'd be interested to see what happens if a European coach brings a high speed pressing game to Brazil. That could be the next revolution in the game for them, because I think that if their stars stay home, they won't be accustomed to European tactics when they play them in international competitions.
That's the biggest adjustment Brazilians have to make. Neymar and Moura are as good as any players in the world at dribbling, but it's their movement off the ball that will determine how good they will become. Robinho, who is the prototype of this type of forward, still struggles with his off the ball positioning, though he's made a lot of strides forward.
The biggest question is whether Neymar and Lucas can fit into a high-tempo passing game like Barca and on some occasions Man U employ. Lucas might have to change significantly to fit into Man U's style of play. People forget that Anderson was an attacking midfielder when he joined. Now he's a box to box player who retains very little of that original flair that he had at Porto.

I was surprised to see Brazil, including Neymar, press as well as they did during their recent friendlies. Of course, they still played a relatively deep back line e.g. Messi's final goal.
Didn't Anderson win a U17 World Cup Golden Ball as an attacking midfielder?

I watch a good bit and I think he's going to be as good as we wants to be...

Ganso folded against Barcelona (I know it's the best)... he had no idea what to do...

Yep.
They made an approach for Wenger to be their NT coach. I think the federation realizes that they need to learn how to play the high pressure game in order to compete internationally.

It's literally the opposite of what Brazilian players have been taught to do.
They have the players who can do it now, but only because most of their national team has played in Europe for a while. If this next generation never makes it to Europe, they will have to learn those tactics from somewhere.
