Saw some of that against the US as well. Man I really hate to give up KdB for this guy, seems we are determined to have a German winger in the squad though I hoped Roman learned a lesson after the Marin disaster.

My understanding is that we're just loaning KdB not out-and-out transferring him.

About half the KdB rumors I see have him being sold the other half have him being loaned and only a handful have him playing for the blues next season. It would be so silly to sell him, he's damn good.

Is Schurrle really that much better than KdB?

I don't understand Chelsea's policy toward youth. Why did they get rid of Nemanja Matic, especially now that they are linked with him again? Why do they loan out Lukaku when he is the most precocious target striker in a long while? He's better than Torres right now, and has a much higher upside than Ba. He would excel holding up the ball and working with the AMs behind him.

Is he even a hair better than KdB might be a more fair question. Hard to say, they play dofferent positions. Bremen would've been relegated in all likelihood without KdB. I think strength in Schürrles value comes in the attention he requires from defenders. Somewhat similar to Podolski, he's at his best when slicing in off that left flank or playing off the lone striker. His pace and laser boot do demand respect, but his decision making is lacking. In my estimation he will sub in late a few times and will blow people away, but when he gets the full 90 you'll sometimes forget he's out there. Regardless he's only 22 and still has a long career, so I'm not going to down him too much. He's extremely talented. I think Leverkusen will benefit greatly as a squad by getting rid of him. Their attack will be much more flexible and his rumored replacement is one of my favorite players, Mr Son, from HSV

he's significantly better than anyone we've been linked to and is perfect for our style of play.

especially considering today's higuain rumor storm

There's no way you'll convince me that rooney is significantly better than higauin for our system and needs

Well Rooney is better for our style of play. We've rarely needed a beyond the CB style poacher, especially if we are playing a single striker. Rooney can do anything we need to. He can play with his back toward goal, he can play as a false 9, he can play as a lone striker, he can play behind the striker, and he can score goals. I mean, he's a better player than Higuian. He's scored ten plus goals in league play every year going back to 2004-05, from all sorts of different positions.

I mean, I wouldn't mind Higuain, who has a solid chance conversion percentage, but Rooney is more of a sure thing, if he is motivated and fully fit. I can see him go the way of Arshavin really quickly.

@tancredipalmeri: Mario Gomez has agreed wages with both Napoli and Fiorentina in case one of them will pay 16-18m requested by Bayern, according to Sky Italy

his whole situation with ManU makes me think whenever he goes next, he will be highly motivated.

Rooney is a brilliant talent who can play any one of 4 or 5 positions in our formation (though maybe not happily if this season is any indication). as crazy said, he's got a damn fine goalscoring record, and assists to boot this board is harder on higuain than he probably deserves, but I still think Rooney is considerably better. jovetic is a top talent, but our hope, if we bought him, would be that he turns into a Rooney-esque player.

It's fun to hate.

He'd still be a good buy for 90% of the top teams in Europe, though. Certainly not as dynamic as Wayne Rooney, but he'll all but guarantee you 20 goals if you stick him on the field for 90 minutes 30+ times a season.

'Twas a thing of beauty. Thanks to FIFA (and Eden Hazard), Belgium has become my 2nd favorite Nat'l team behind 'Murika. They're young, creative, energetic and extremely fun to watch.

I'll be pretty upset if we let him go, I don't see the point.

BVB sending prospect Moritz Leitner on loan to Stuttgart for 2 seasons. I guess this means they plan on keeping Gundogan around, that won't be easy.

Bruno Alves from Zenit to Fenerbahce for 6 million Euros. Much better than paying 22 million for him in 2011.

Two season loan? That seems a bit extreme. Klopp must be planning on featuring Sahin a lot.

People must not watch Higuain much.

He's woefully average. Rooney is a much much better player than him, and Rooney could seamlessly slot into virtually any squad in the world. He's a dynamic player.
