EPL - Liverpool (still in the closet about being a secondary Arsenal fan)

Spain - Barca (just because I hate Real)

Germany - Hannover

Italy - Roma

France - eh....

MLS - Haven't decided yet. The Union game I watched the other day was fun but I may pick a Texas team so I can actually make games.

Anybody but LIverpool. Their fans are scum and the team plays crap football. It consists of hoofing it up to Torres and hoping he can out run the defense. I'm United through and through,so I'm very biased. If you want to be entertained follow us. Another choice would be Everton. They and Fulham have the best record of signing Americans.

Based on kits:

Serie A:

Sampdoria (Honorable Mention: AC Milan, Inter and Palermo)

Ligue 1: PSG or Sochaux (Honorable Mention: OL)

EPL: Manchester City (Honorable Mention: Arsenal, West Ham/Aston Villa, Everton's pink away kits)

Spain: Barcelona

MLS: Philadelphia Union (not the away kit) and DC United Honorable Mention: KC Wizards (current not the old rainbow kits), LA Galaxy andChivas USA

Laughing at this. My best friend's from Gijon and after numerous trips there I can still hardly pronounce it so that any Spaniard understands.
During my last visit, his dad had "relegated" the Sporting Gijon flag from their entry foyer to covering the toilet tank in response to Sporting's season. I really only follow Serie A closely but as far as La Liga, this sealed my fate as a Sporting fan.

Serie A: AS ROMA (+ Cagliari)

La Liga: Sporting Gijon

No real preference in the other leagues.

Serie A: if Dempsey goes to Milan it's them no doubt. If not, Roma is an option, but it's definitely not going to be Juventus

I've been a fan of AS Roma since the late 1990s when I moved to Rome. I'd be the last to push anyone not living in or from Roma to become a fan-- though counting Juve and Lazio as primary rivals is desirable to say the least -- but the club is interesting in it's uniquely close knit relationship with the city. The club has seen the Sensi family of Roma as owners for the past 2 decades and has attempted wherever possible to keep the roster "home grown" (talents such as Totti helping of course).

However, this future is pretty clouded at present as the club is presently owned by UNICREDIT bank due to the debts of Rosella Sensi who has assumed management since the passing of her father. It will be a real shame to see the club (which has a ton of unrealized international branding appeal) fall into the wrong hands.

Bundesliga: Werder Bremen

La Liga: Valencia

Serie A: Inter, only because of Samuel Eto'o and Diego Milito

League 1: GTFO

MLS: GTFO

EPL: Tottenham vs. Fulham vs. Everton, depending on the movement of American players

SPL: Rangers (Edu)

Germany: Hannover, Monchengladbach, or Munich

Spain: ?

Ligue 1: Sochaux, only for Davies, when he leaves I'm done

Serie A: ?

Check out Athletic Bilbao.

Only play players from the Basque region or players who came up at a club in the region. That's unique. Seem to have a pretty passionate fan base due to the regional loyalty. Have a good history, if not a great one recently (thanks to Barca and Real running shite in La Liga).
