i've only been to finn's for a match, but if you get one of the other bars to be "official", it may not be the greatest atmosphere at first. but with a base of at least 25 guys, plus word of mouth, etc., obviously it would get better.

one of my buddies bartends at bayou beer garden. i can ask him to run the idea by management and see if it's even possible if you want.

edit - i'd join the N.O. chapter btw

If you could do that, it would be great.

I think you make a good point, in that with a large group of Outlaws there the atmosphere would have a good vibe to begin with. That atmosphere would only get better as time went on.

It's good to see we already have people interested in joining. I have been looking to join AO Baton Rouge, but I have graduated from LSU and am back home in NOLA now.

I'm already a member of AO Baton Rouge and I'm not going to change my affiliation or anything, but I'll definitely come out to y'all's events. I love watching games at Finn's but sometimes with the crowd and confined space, fighting for a beer, food taking an hour, etc., it gets a bit much.

Tracy's had an ok atmosphere. The food is pretty good, there is a bar that's a bit separated from the food area, there is LOTS of space, and lots of places to sit.

I liked it. There were probably at least 10 other soccer fans there, and there were about 6 or so in my group, too.

I have seen people on other forums (not soccer related) mentioned that they watch USMNT games at Tracy's. That is why it immediately came to mind. I was just worried that none of these places would be as involved with soccer to cater to AO needs. I guess they would see the benefits of having 25+ members coming to spend money.

Yes BobbyGoulet if you could talk to your friend that bartends there and see if Bayou Beer Garden would be open to having the AO use them as their home bad that would be awesome. I actually worked for a nonprofit organization that uses Bayou Beer Garden as their bar. You can either PM me on here or reach me at coreyscott115@gmail.com

All this help is greatly appreciated and to the guys saying that they would join if there is a chapter, if y'all can send some feelers out to y'all's friends that enjoy soccer as well if they would be interested than that would be great.

One of our good friends has ties with The Bulldog owners. Would this possibly be a place of interest?

I think bayou beer garden is better bc it has an outside bar with a massive seating area, most of which is covered. It can fit a lot of people and has the right amount of TVs, id add one more TV outside.

Just got off the phone with the owner of the Bulldog. He was very excited about the possibility of having his bar on Canal street as the home bar for American Outlaws New Orleans. He said he would offer drink specials, do giveaways, etc. Basically, he wants this to happen, and he wants it to happen at his bar.

Thoughts?

i think the bulldog on canal would be perfect, though i've not been to bayou beer garden yet. i'd join AO NOLA in a heart beat.

i'm confident that i'll have about 5 friends who would join as well.

I would be OK with the Bulldog except that at the time games are played it's usually pretty crowded. I don't think people are going to want to stand for two hours. Plus where would you stand? It would just be awkward.

That's where Tracy's had an advantage. During US/Mex there were easily 40 free seats.

I'll throw rusty nail out there too.

This would be a good option.

They don't get the Bein network right now. Not sure if they even get Direct TV. That would have to be remedied.

The owner of Tracey's is a pretty good friend of mine... I usually watch USMNT games there and try and make sure they turn on the sound... It usually isn't an issue

Yo you should definitely talk to him then. I would love to have some other place I could reliably watch the game besides Finn's. Not a knock on Finn's, but sometimes a brotha needs a relaxing seat.

FYI -

Watched the Ghana game in the knockout round at the Bayou Bear Garden a few years ago. Finns was way too packed and couldn't let anyone else in. I couldn't get there at 630 AM like I had for the England game, etc.

Plenty of people showed up (it was packed, but not Finns packed). However, they had the TVs in the bar with HD signal and the tvs in the rest of the place without. That lead to at 3 second differential (HD channels lagging due to increased signal?).

I was watching at a table in the room off the bar. We would see the chances, goals, fouls all ahead of the people next to us watching in the bar. They were obviously getting pissed about that. We even threw in a few fake reactions just to mess with them.

We did ask them to put it on HD so that they could all sync up - but the bartender said they couldn't. Not sure if that has been fixed, but it would be a big deterrent to a group watching there imo.

Just something to check out.

Ok guys just to give those that were interested:
- We are almost 100% positive that we are going to use The Bulldog on Canal as our home bar. We talked to the owner and he seemed very excited at the chance to have us at the bar for the games. He said we they will have specials for whenever we go
- We have also started a twitter account and a gmail account to make it easier for everyone to keep in touch. The following accounts are AO_NewOrleans and americanoutlawsnola@gmail.com
We are also in the works of creating a Facebook page and a logo for our specific chapter so this is really happening.

If you have any questions you can email us and if you are interested then you can just leave your email address under this topic.

Question: When all the seats at the Bulldog are taken by 5 PM, where do I sit for a 7PM kickoff?
