And Debuchy is coming on board to replace Sagna.
Perfect, gives Jenko more time before being thrown to the fire and Debuchy is a quality signing. So excited about Sanchez.. fingers crossed on that one. Ridiculous counterattacking team with Theo back and him on the pitch. I'll leave it to Wenger.

if we can add those two and lars bender, we will have as good a top XI as any team out there.
I think we should loan out gnabry to Everton

Agree on all counts.
Perfect place for Serge.

I'm curious about our formation next season, assuming Sanchez comes in.
We usually run with various 4-5-1 formations. Over the last few years we've had a lone striker in rvp or giroud then various forms with 5 midfielders. You could even argue that we basically play a 4-4-2 but rarely have two out and out strikers. Tried it with ozil, carzola, rosicky, arshavin as a false nine trailing the striker. No need in change of style, just need quality depth for the string of injuries we have every season. Sanchez takes care of a lot of that since he could easily play any of our most forward positions. We became very limited when Theo went out as he could play out wide or through the middle. He also has become a great finisher that we lacked unless poldi actually got his head in the game.

Yeah, I don't recall seeing us play 4-4-2 on a consistent basis for a few years now, not since the Henry years really.
But let's say that these moves come to fruition and we stay 4-2-3-1.
Gibbs-Kos-BFG-Debuchy is a given.
Where it gets interesting is in the holding area. Arteta won't be around forever. Do we transition Jack there? Does Ox move back a little? The other spot goes to Ramsey.
Then you go Carzola-Ozil-Walcott. Pretty deep bench behind them, including Jack, Ox, Podolski, and Diaby if healthy.
Sanchez up top with Giroud spelling him. Sonogo still intrigues me.

I've learned you have to adopt a totally different mindset while reading these Brit scandal rags, since they take rumor and speculation and run with it.
I'm not complaining. It makes for entertaining reading, and I pay close attention trying to find a nugget of substance in the articles.
But hey, this is sounding like it has legs. And if not, it won't be the first time Arsene and the Brit papers disappointed me.
Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal

It's getting reported everywhere, so it must be happening. If it doesn't, I'm punching Glassman next time I'm in NOLA.

Arsenal reportedly intestrested in Lars Bender over Khedria

Not getting my hopes up over Sanchez, just as I didn't get my hopes up over Ozil last year. Worked then.
But if we come out of this summer with Sanchez, Khedira/Bender, and Debuchy, I'd be thrilled. Still need another CB, though.

Bender would be a great addition there. none of our other players fit that mold particularly well. other than arteta, we'd have 2 B2B midfielders playing with each other which would take more positional awareness than has been shown as of yet to work. one would always have to rein in their desire to go forward. could work, but adding Bender or Schneiderlin would be great.
everyone is going on about Sanchez. sure seems like it's a done deal. quite a bit different than ozil, which kinda came out of nowhere and was fairly quickly done.
if we land him, that's 4 guys that, if healthy, are candidates to be 20 goal/10 assist players in Giroud, Theo, Sanchez, and Rambo. I'd say Poldi too, but he won't get enough appearances.

Surrounding Ozil with runners. I like it.

i'm not sure what our best XI would be. that's probably a good thing. a lot of really good lineups could be had, and our bench will be stellar.

Given our injury history we will need a fairly deep squad. I wonder what's going to happen to TV5. It wasn't that long ago that Barca were looking at him. He's still a good CB, but like all CB's, who his partner is can make or break him. We all dislike Gallas, but he was the perfect partner for Tommy.
If we get a long term CB along with everyone else we are rumored to be in for, then I'll be really happy with the summer.

absolutely. it's gonna be crowded though. poldi, santi, jack, ox, diaby, arteta, flamini, monreal, tv5, gnabry, rosicky, jenks, and joel campbell all are probably not in our top XI (if we add bender and sanchez).
definitely think gnabry should go out on loan.

I feel we were quite lucky and were walking a thin line last season. None of our first choice defensive players were out for too long like in seasons past. We need help at cb. And of course we need a keeper. Just in case.

Don't forget our first signing of the offseason was a new physio/trainer!
ETA: slight sarcasm*
