Stan Collymore tweeted that he spoke to Wenger in Brazil and the deal is "as good as done". From the horse's mouth.

This is so AWESOME!!!

this signing is making me so happy. I think özil will have 25+ assists this year (in all comps). a freaking coup.

Brazils gets thrashed, the new jerseys look excellent, we have replaced sagna, and have now got our help in attack. What an amazing summer for us arsenal fans.

What do you guys think of Bendtner? Seeing that he is linked to Villa I was interested in what we may be getting with him.

a once-top prospect that will struggle to contribute unless he has a life-altering experience. hasn't taken good care of his body in the past few years but doesn't seem to notice that he's sucked for awhile. I'd be pretty surprised if he was any good for you guys.

If we run out Theo, Ramsey, Ozil, and Alexis, we really need to get a DM destroyer. All those guys like to exploit space behind the defense, so we'll need a beast to cover. Arteta won't be good enough in big games, much as I love that beautiful man. He will be perfect for games in which we play small sides with 10 behind the ball, but we need an elite 6 to buy Ramsey that extra second to get back, because you know he's coming.

some arsenal fans thought he'd be better last year since it was his contract year and he was playing with some talented providers. unfortunately, he was awful and wasn't involved in the first team after poor performances and off the field antics.

maybe if he gets a string of games as the starting striker he can come back into form but that's pretty hopeful. at his best he's very good in the air and at making runs to get onto crosses. not great at holding up the ball but not awful. not much of a shot from distance. inexplicably, he's generally been solid/good for his national team (until recently, I believe).

that's why I want bender or schneiderlin. khedira is very good, but he's b2b and we don't need that.

also, gibbs is now no. 3. I like it. debuchy will surely snap up no. 2. wonder if rosicky has to give up no. 7 or if we let the vet keep his number. 13, 23, 29, and 30 are available otherwise.

Well our problem is with Benteke out for who knows how long and Helenius on loan, we really have very little striking options. I do think AVFC are able to play well on the wings and get crosses off so maybe a guy who is good in the air will be good for us.

Honestly, he can't play much worse than Benteke did last year.

Love the new jerseys. Will be ordering a red for myself and a blue striped one for my wife. But, as I expected, the training and fan apparel is pretty awful.

So, you guys see Alexis as the #9?

I'm still jealous...

i think he or theo will feature there a lot more than last season. i'd still bet on giroud getting the majority of the matches at CF, but I could be wrong. hopefully arsene's post-signing comments will shed some light on what he sees him as.
