That diagonal run he made to free up space for Hazard taking three defenders with him

I could watch that last sequence 1000 times and be more impressed with each viewing. Everything was perfect.

ut seriously what a heartbreaking finish for this feisty Japan squad

They’re going to look at that moment at midfield when they had 3 guys in the same space, bungled into each other and gave it away on the play that led to the corner that yielded the first goal.
They were in control up to that point and never again after that.

I'm surprised you're pulling for Brazil.

I'm not really pulling for Brazil. I'm just a Belgium skeptic for reasons we saw in this game. Amazing attacking talent, but uninspiring from Witzel on back for me

No reason to play KDB that deep either.

On the otherside, Kagawa was magnificent. His performance reminded me of Zidane's against Brazil in 2006. Controlled the tempo from right behind the striker. Sad that he won't get the praise he deserves, because it was an immaculate performance.

I think Marcelo being there for Brazil is big. If he doesn't play it is trouble for Brazil

Yeah I've long been a Kagawa fan as long he's allowed to play centrally. Super smart player and technically gifted.

They could really use Nainggolan with KDB more of a 10 imo

Nainggolan is a better player than Witsel.

Witsel doesn't do all that much on the field. He seems slow to everything. I don't get why coaches love him. If you are going three at the back, you don't necessarily need a destroyer in midfield.

Yeah, Martinez needs to figure out something that puts KDB closer to the action, dropping dimes.

Especially when their defenders are having trouble covering the width of the field. Neymar is going to be running at center backs for a lot longer than I'd be comfortable with as a Belgium fan - unless they change their tactics.

Neymar and Willian are going to be huge in that game.

Damn that was fun. Lukaku didn’t even touch the ball yet he was the reason they scored. Everybody else had the easy part. shite like that is why I love this game.

he works his socks off every game

he's matured so much the last year

They will. That second goal from Japan was a major wtf. They’re on the 18 and Belgium defending like they’re at midfield. Just way too far off the ball.

Respect to Japan for playing hard and not playing it safe. Belgium's quality was the difference.

I think their height and luck was the difference and going for it is one thing. Going all in on a corner with 30 seconds left and everyone on your team is 6 inches shorter than their marker probably wasn't the best idea.
