Besler got more shite than anyone else on this forum when he was starting. Now that hes not jurgy is an idiot for not starting him l

Ok and we still lose 3-0 until our entire team is comfortable enough on the ball that they can beat 1 man and find an open pass rather than just kicking it upfield as soon as someone gets close to them
Landon said it correct. We couldve started ibrahimovic in wondos spot and it wouldnt have mattered. Are dempsey n jones too old also? They have carried us this far in this copa and they are just as old as Beckerman

We were never gonna take it to them. That was coach speak for we're not gonna bunker. We had 0% chance of controlling possession this game before the lineups were announced

I wouldnt say this was a bunker at. The early goal hurt because argentina got to play 87 minutes knowing we had to chase the ball
Posted on 6/21/16 at 9:59 pm to sgallo3
We barely touched the ball before they scored. We didn't even get a shot on goal.

Starting Wondo was inexplicable, but we would have gotten raped regardless of who the 11 were tonight.

I guess its fun to imagine we wouldve started a 17 year old attacking mid over him vs Argentina but no coach was going to do that
shouldn't have had to have that decision. danny williams is better than becerkman and could have helped in the back

I think you can blame him for starting Wondo and Zusi instead of guys like Nagbe.

Sums it up nicely:

Needing boldness, he reached for his security blanket.

and beckerman lost lavezzi and was 3 steps slow in recovery to put us down in the 3rd minute

We likely would have lost even with no suspensions and all our starters. That being said Jurgen put us in a terrible position to even compete with the lineup he put out there, and with his shitty call-ups which finally came back to bite him in the arse.
Posted on 6/21/16 at 10:06 pm to pvilleguru
Why did we need to be bold? Messi would have pooped on our collective chests whether or not we played Nagbe. We had the worst 11 players on the pitch. Starting a MLS 10 who is mediocre in tracking and coverage was not the elixir.

Argentina was class but you can definitely blame Jurgy for this. Beckerman should never have been an option for this team. You don't put out a lineup like this and then have half the team pressing and half the team sitting back. Also we used our size and speed advantage poorly.
Posted on 6/21/16 at 10:08 pm to Vicks Kennel Club
Because sitting back was guaranteed to give us the same 4-0 result.
Posted on 6/21/16 at 10:08 pm to crazy4lsu
The problem is we have no viable replacement for Jones. I thought Beckerman would have been the best for his defensive discipline and ability to recycle possession, but there was no good option.
Posted on 6/21/16 at 10:09 pm to crazy4lsu
yeah we didn't try to play outside strategically and instead went for the early longball on the sidelines
jurgen hates using real 10s and wants to use bradley there and it's a disaster
jurgen hates DMs who aren't bradley or becks
we had no speed thread at forward
just ridiculously timid. at this point, we all know jurgen is going to frick it up badly if he has to think
