How did he miss that one?

I think Ajax are trying to slow it down too much. They've gotten away from what they were doing in the first half

How many headers are spurs gonna miss today? Can’t say they didn’t have chances.

Van de Beek is an impressive player. He's been a fantastic B2B presence this game.

You guys were right. No where for the goals to come from for Spurs.
0-1 or 1-1. Gonna have to win it at Ajax. Hopefully Sonny has a hat trick in him.

Yeah, that Dutch league break is bullshite. UEFA shouldn’t allow it

welp. down 0-1 isn't the worst result considering how the match started.
sissoko completely changed the game with his presence in the midfield, and honestly that's a pretty big frickup from pochettino leaving him out of the starting 11, but this game just never felt like spurs were going to score. even the chances created felt more wishful than anything.

Starting Wanyama was a mistake too. He got caught on the ball a bunch and couldn't make a pass to split the press. Seems like Ajax targeted him specifically at times. Need a ball player there. You can maybe start Sissoko who can beat the press with his dribbling, but he isn't the sterling passer. I do think that might be all you need though, as I noticed that Sissoko started warming up as Wanyama was getting overrun. I wonder if that was the change Poch was going to make until JV5's injury.

Wanyama was a liability I can’t believe he stayed on for the whole match. We’re missing Winks a lot right now he controls the ball and keeps possession. Wanyama can’t do that and that’s not what sissoko is there for. Maybe next year we’ll buy a player.

Just for the record, Poch was taking a shot at the English FA more than UEFA with his comments.
Also, Winks had surgery and is out for the season, which is really disappointing.

So because one club has more money they get an uneven playing field? Not tottenhams fault the Dutch league doesn’t pay out more. Sell more tickets, raise prices. You shouldn’t get to cheat because a team decimated with injury is richer. That’s some leftist shite if I ever heard of it. Are we supposed to subsidize the Dutch now? What about the Portuguese league, let’s send them a billion, too.

My thing is cancelling a whole week of an entire domestic league is a little much for me. (Although the Dutch's hands were slightly tied with King's Day being on Saturday).
But also, the English FA could do more to help their own teams. And that's a complaint that's been going on for a few years now.
ETA: Also, each team has a set CL roster that cannot change. So it's not like money will help you have more legs somehow in that regard. And Ajax spent about €45mil more than Spurs this past summer

As a soccer noob, why are Barcelona so hated? I’ve never met a fan.
