Greenland plays non-Fifa sanctioned friendlies but hopes of competitive international football for the first time were dashed at a meeting in Miami before the Gold Cup.
"Based on a thorough assessment conducted by the Concacaf administration and Council, and in accordance with the Concacaf Statutes, the Member Associations reviewed the membership application submitted by the Greenlandic Football Association and unanimously rejected it," said a Concacaf statement.

That sucks. Guatemala at Greenland between snow banks is a game we all want to see. Maybe only once. But at least once.

Addressed in my thread on the subject last year

The guys on the Guardian pod made that sound like UEFA is effectively closed for business, and I imagine a lot has to do with having no real options other than these nations within states (and there is no way UEFA steps into the shitstorm of Catalonia/Basque requests)

Crappy news. Greenland has been investing in the game and trying to get a fifa membership for nearly a decade. It’s quite ironic how fifa and concacaf both preach to “grow the game” every chance they get, yet when a country is actively trying to grow the game in their nation you soundly reject them.
Personally id love to see them. With the way qualifying is right now the chances the US ever plays them are extremely slim, but id still love to see how Martinique or Anguilla would do in an October qualifier in Nuuk. I feel like they’d have a guaranteed point (or 3) at home against smaller Caribbean teams

i'll translate in Concacaf:

Greenland did not offer up a big enough bag of cash for us to consider them possibly joining.
