I seem to interpret that as well. They are basically co-opting the men’s fifa bonus and using US equality laws to force that.

I’m seeing it from both ends
What I’m saying is, I don’t think the actually Women’s team were ever fighting for this
Thought they were suing the USSF, not Fifa

There was a comment by one of the attorneys around the WC that USSF had the obligation to cover the bonus shortfall by FIFA because us employment laws says so. Specious argument at best.

Why is there only one organization overseeing both men's and women's soccer anyway? In golf, there is the LPGA and PGA which are two completely separate entities. Same with the WTA and ATP for tennis. Have two separate organizations, one for men and one for women and determine the salaries for the players based off the revenue each organization takes in. Problem solved.

Because if there was a WFIFA there’d be no WWC?

Same reason there's the USGA, USTA, USA Basketball, etc.

I'm talking about the USSF. Why isn't there a women's US federation and a men's US federation that are separate organizations from each other?

Please do not interpret this as me siding with the women here (because I am not), but I am a lawyer and I can find an "independent" expert to validate my position for every single matter I take to trial. So can the other side. Experts bend data to say what they are paid to say.

This is not finding an "independent expert." An independent accounting firm has to attest to the numbers and follow AICPA standards. This isn't about a "position." These aren't opinions. These are numbers. Numbers don't have a position. So, either the numbers are right or the accounting firm may have committed fraud.

but you'll likely see something from the women's side that appears to be equally as convincing (if the USWNT's lawyer is doing his/her job).

From what I've read, I doubt it. She literally said "you need to compare apples to apples." You won't get more "apples to apples" than the total paid to each team's players. Granular comparisons won't be apples to apples because pay structures are very different.

I feel like a moron for not knowing the extent to which the NWSL is subsidized. Excluding the people that still believe there is a broader discrimination-based wage gap, that should be the end of that argument in the mainstream.

Paid more earning less revenue...anyone accusing the USSF of being unfair to the USWNT at this point is a cretin.

USWNT spokeswoman bringing absolutely nothing to the table in response makes it clear that the campaign is done. Cordeiro better not roll over on these morons.

In other sports there aren’t male or female federations though

It’s USA Basketball, USA hockey, USA swimming etc

the real problem is that the USSF does their TV/endorsement deals as one. if they were done by sex, there wouldn't even be a creative argument to be made obo the women

And the men would be suing the USSF for unfair pay

The logical solution is to form one national team for both women and men. I have been assured there is no biological differences between men and women so everyone will have an equal opportunity to make the team. Also it should greatly help them men to play with World Cup champions

I appreciate how he low key ended it by calling out everyone who bitches about equal pay currently doesn't support, attend, or watch women's soccer (specifically NWSL) outside of the WC.
