Whenever the women's team can beat the U-17's I'll respect their opinion.

Well looks like that debate has been put to bed after the men made the semifinals in the copa.

Also these women's euro teams are just going to get better bc at club level the money pumped into them by big money football clubs. So don't be surprised when their leagues especially the English one becomes the best in the world while the American women's league is subsidized by the MLS and US soccer and their wages still suck.

How much are they going to put into womens soccer there? Serious question.

That's when I'll start watching them outside the WC.

I would love for our men's team to make the Olympics just so we can take a team of college players.

Well the City women get to play here

The womens fa cup was played at Wembley

It has exploded here in the last few years even to the point matches are on national tv shown on BT.

Exactly what ive been saying before. Bring a college all star team.

That would be good in their development to potentially become pro players.

Really just to get them exposure. Maybe a club would notice them and give them an offer.

Pretty much

does guys who should be getting ready or already in their season no good.

Perfect example is Nacho not playing for Nigeria. Now would you rather have your youth player playing in the Olympics or being coached by Pep?

Well, I don't know if I know anything about soccer or not but I will say that I have very little clue about how the USSF makes/obtains money.

Easy. 90% of USSF revenue comes from precious Johnny's and Jilly's parents paying the yearly soccer registration fees for playing at the youth levels.

SCH, I think we just have different opinions here. Do you think an extra two weeks of preseason is more important or do you think an extra international tournament is more important? I think that competitive intl tourney atmosphere is important for preparing players for that environment come the World Cup. That was Holden's argument too. I get where you're coming from and I see the validity to your point of view.

Is the player in question fighting for a spot on the matchday roster? If so, I don't want him at the Olympics.

It's athleticism. There was a post on Reddit the other day on r data is beautiful that showed just how much of a strength advantage men have over women at every age level. I can't really argue that 17 year old boys are better or worse than our women's national team players when it comes to technique, but they are certainly a hell of a lot more athletic than the women.

That's cool they can use the stadiums, but how much revenue are they pulling in (I'm assuming tickets are going to be a lot cheaper, but I'm honestly guessing)? And how much money are they going to pay the players?

I don't really see this as a bad thing if the Europeans pay the women more.

She said she's going to play four more years and would be open to playing in England (Liverpool)..

Why doesn't she go now? The money's better and she'll be past her prime in four years.

I'm not sure, but she's 34, so the time would be now.. She was being interviewed by LFC TV while on the summer tour of the U.S., so it may have just been light hearted

In the end both parties would have to want it and broker a deal..

I don't know the answers to this, but I do notice that City tweet a good bit about their ladies team. I was kind of surprised how much they do it TBH. It's a big deal to them.

I think they also have one of England's better players though too, so that may be a big draw.

yeah, the LFC Ladies team has received a lot more exposure over the last few years... it helped with them winning the league in 2013 and 2014, but they shite the bed last season and lost the coach to Boston Breakers and Fara Williams to Arsenal..

I won't say I am a huge fan or anything, but am exposed enough to it to keep up with it.. casually..
