So nearly a week in, what are everyone's thoughts on the expanded edition?
Negatives would of course be less quality soccer and less meaningful group stage matches.
Positives would be seeing teams like Albania, Georgia, and Scotland get their shot and all the emotion and passion that comes with it.

The games have been the complete opposite of this

I like the expanded version
European purists would argue “it’s not as hard to make the tournament anymore” and the whole third place advancing thing but for the viewer I think it’s good

Exciting games and quality soccer are not the same thing.

I mean, these have been both. In the knockout rounds when the games become cagey with better teams, even talent levels and especially better defensive tactics, we will absolutely see worse games. Right now this has been a fun tournament.

I am just hoping that Copa America can come close to this level of fun

And that’s why Arsenal needs a true striker. How do you not even get a shot off?

It was havertz wasn't it? One of the few good things to happen at Chelsea the last two years is not having to watch havertz

He’s a great winger. He’s not a #9.

Home cooking. That was a foul.

i agree, it wasn't a ton of contact but it was pretty much in the back and completely knocked that guy off balance, 4 feet from the goal.

It wasn’t an egregious foul, but it was definitely a foul
