First goal was on him as he should have come off his line and cleared that. Ended up in no man's land. Other than that he was fine.

People saying he should have been red carded blow my mind. That was one of many lavezzi shenanigans before he went and actually got hurt tumbling over that sign.

Guzan grabbed him and pulled him down. Lavezzi made it look worse but it was dumb AF by Guzan.

How's that a red card?

Guzan has been very good all tournament. None of the goals last night were on him.

1st - Lavezzi got behind for free. Watch as we send two to the ball. Granted it was Messi, but sending 2 to the ball let him slip in behind. It was a clever flicked header which you don't always see. Guzan probably was anticipating a downward header.

2nd - Individual brilliance by Messi. A ball struck from that distance dipping and placed where it was is a goal 99% of the time against any and all keepers.

3rd - He makes the first save and an unlucky rebound gives it right back to Higuain

4th - What on earth was Bernbaum thinking?

I'll disagree with you on this one. He was rooted to his spot and hesitated to come out. He had enough time to come clear that ball with a punch but instead ended up in no man's land in between.

Beckerman and others got caught sleeping, yes, but Guzan got caught in no man's land. He F'd up just as much as the others. He could have punched it away if he had fully committed, or he could have held the line, which is not as good as trying to punch the ball away, but definitely better than standing halfway between the player and goal.

It was a great shot. Probably as good as you can get it to the far side, but 99%? If it was closer to the goal and the shot was over the wall, I'd say yes. But this is the far side, which should be defendable against any shot, no matter how good. Guzan tried to cheat over by taking an early step to the near side, and he paid for it.

He can't be blamed at all for the last two goals. He did not have a good game. Below average at best.

He could have cleared the Higuain ball.

probably wasnt but he opened himself up to having the call made. it was just stupid. and he fricked up the first goal.

I'm not anti-guzan but saying he was the best player on the field for us is just dumb. I understand no one played well of course but guzan wasnt the best of the worst.

it's looking like, a strength for several decades for team USA, will be a weakness.

Goalkeeping

We have been lucky to have some great goalies, and the 2 starters, guzan and howard, are not good enough to win us games right now.

First goal was not his fault but he was caught in no mans land as he went out and tried to come back. It happens to all goalies
