Garber would absolutely kill the USMNT's hope/Pulisic's career if he had the chance to bring Pulisic to MLS.

Yep.

Broski is almost there...

He will see the light upon some reflection in the coming days.

You're a moron, that's literally what I said and you called me naive. You were the one saying they were working together.

Again, solid rebuttal...

You started this thread by posting wrong information and now can't form an argument.

Props.

This cycle was doomed the minute the 2014 WC ended. When the USSF started pushing behind the scenes for US players to come home to the MLS.

100% agree

Our best players in their prime should not be playing in MLS being paid well over market value.

Yea and now soccer in America might be pushed back another 15 years. All this starts from the top.

You have been spewing drivel about what is wrong with the USMNT 3 months before the 2014 WC. Jurgen is fricking this team up "yada yada yada" "My Landon..."

You were so blinded by the manager/player dynamic leading up to 2014 WC that you completely missed the systemic/talent issues that were starting to rear their ugly head.

US soccer is watching the 2018 WC because we bred a generation of entitled players.

I haven't started a thread about Landon being left off the World Cup since 2015... adorable that you keep bringing that up like it's some "aha gotcha" moment for you.

And by the way, how was me posting about Landon all those years ago any different than your constant defense of Jurgen now?

So why weren't these systemic/talent issues a problem in cycles before?

The talent pool is deeper than it ever has been, that is an indisputable fact when you consider the amount of guys we have playing both abroad and even the youth in MLS. We have a fricking 19 year old who is a star at a top-tier Bundesliga club.

Spare me with the "it's all a lack of talent" bullshite.

Every argument you bring up the talent issue and everyone else in the threads ask you the question I just asked you and you balk at it every time. Which I'm sure you'll do again.

Both he and Bruce made it sound like not much needs to be changed.

Get them both the frick out of here.

I think the real issue is that we were caught between generations, from the Donovan/Dempsey era to the Bradley/Altidore era that really didn't work out to the Pulisic era.

But again, that doesn't excuse losing to T&T.

I'll give you systemic issues. But do you really think the US really only has the fifth most talented pool of players in CONCACAF? I just don't buy that.

Yep, is our talent on par with the Germany's, Brazil's, etc.? Hell fricking now, it isn't even on par with the Englands and Belgium's.

What happened in this cycle isn't about that though, it's about that we squandered superior talent to fricking Honduras and Panama.

I think this player core decided to cash in and take it easy in the MLS.

That's not good enough. It's not a manager issue and never was honeatly.

Yeah, this was an off generation for us in the sense that the 22-27 age group was hardly represented at all in this cycle, but again our teams were still more talented and deeper than Honduras and Panama who are both still relying on old players form their "golden generation". A pair of team's by the way that we didn't lose to at all in the hex.

It comes down to a lack of effort and heart, which is on coaching and the players and I just don't understand why.
