How come he never got picked up by a big club?

I think Arsenal wanted him at some point and triggered his release clause, but he opted to stay with Leicester.

Smart move by him in all honesty. He would’ve faded away into non existence at a big club.

He made Leicester a big club for a while

He had a window where he could have. Leicester won the title…that made them a big club at that period in time.

Yeah I know they won the title but i wonder why he was immediately snatched up given his consistency. It wasn’t a surprise LC wouldn’t maintain that consistency long term.

Leicester wasn’t actually that great when they won the title… they got on a hot run early in the season and just took advantage of a down year from all the other contenders. They were pretty consistent and making Europa a few times after that and might have even won a cup.

Yep he would not have excelled at a team with a lot of possession against a lot of low blocks.
