You all looked good today. That's the first game this year that I saw the full 90. What is Andy Carroll's role with you guys? Do you think he fits the system?

I have no idea with Carroll. I would think that after today his role is going to limited to coming off the bench.

like someone said in the other thread, he really just doesn't fit in. he slows the tempo down whenever he touches the ball. everyone one else is passing and moving and making runs, and carroll seems like he just sits at the top of the box and waits for a header

That's against teams that allow possession and an open game. He might be valuable against the Stoke type teams where set pieces and aerial ability make the difference.

Not to be a dick, but the price he cost LFC, should warrant a little more than the difference against Stoke. I know Chelsea paid 50 million for one goal, but that doesn't hide the fact that Carroll doesn't belong on a club like Liverpool.

no, we should expect more from him for that price.

everyone know he's got the size and power, its his speed that needs to be worked on

What a great game today. Perfect cure for a hangover.

Suarez was incredible. His South American flare really showed with the cheeky chip he tried to pull. The fact that he does not have world class speed, yet still finds himself on one on one breakaways against keepers week by week shows how brilliant his movement really is.

I think Carroll will come around eventually. he just needs to learn how to play in a pass and move system. Everyone knows how great he is on the end of the long balls, but i think his rocket left boot will benefit more when he is on the receiving end of a perfect pass in the 18 yard box. He will just need to take a touch and then put one on target.

WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE LEAGUE!!!

I said teams like Stoke. Derbies against Everton for example. Games that are overly physical in the penalty area.

Sure they should get a lot more from him for that price but if he's the difference in just a couple games that historically have been hard fought draws, then his transfer fee could be more than worth it. You just have to put things in proper perspective.

Saying that, I'm not fully supporting him because I've seen what everyone else has seen so far. But, I am willing to see what he can bring as this season goes along- starting on the bench today was a plus in my eyes because it at least shows that Dalglish isn't married to him in the starting eleven due to his transfer fee.

americanoutlaw, if you really think Suarez dives more than he creates you're a moron. the guy is one of the most creative players in world right now.

Woe, woe, woe, timeout. I just meant that he hits the deck way too much for someone of his caliber, I totally appreciate calling me out soccer board n00b

You are concentrating on the wrong number, 15 is the key not 35.

Comolli was at Old Trafford today...why not a late bid for RvP

He may be ready to jump ship...

Only kidding....

I bought it off of eBay since I am a broke college student. Like $30-40. It looks nice.

My mates bought me a black Carroll kit for my birthday. Its sexy.

Can you imagine the melt down that would ensue if he left? The rioting in London may start anew.

Where do ya'll see Gerrard playing once he is fit?

What if we ran:

Removing Lucas from the starting XI would have its defensive ramifications, but adding Gerrard would vastly improve our offense. We would dominate possession and have plenty more goal scoring opportunities.
