That and the Eithad isn’t in the middle of a neighborhood that allows fans to be on top the route to the stadium.
City bus lets out right in front of stadium in front of home fans. Away Team has a tunnel that lets them into the stadium I believe.
I'm loving the position we're in! OLD CITY IS BACK BABY!!!!

Pep Guardiola's miserable Champions League knockout record away from home took a turn for the worse as Manchester City were thumped by Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.
In 24 away ties in the latter stages of the competition, Guardiola has won only five times in 10 years.

The four-minute video is noticeable for the almost constant thud of objects striking the bus's windows and bodywork. Over the course of the film the bus is struck dozens of times with beer cans appearing through the haze of red pyrotechnic smoke to crash in to the front windscreen.
This undermines any notion that the attack was only the work of a handful of fans.
As the situation deteriorates the closer the City vehicle gets to the ground, conversations between the driver and club support staff are heard with one voice saying: 'They (Liverpool) knew this was going to happen' and another saying: 'We will have to get a new coach for going home' and 'they are f*****g scum bags..I hope the world is seeing this....it is the s******t city in England'. There is also reference made to beating Liverpool 'twenty nil'.
The bus was left with a splintered side window and damage to the front window also. The driver says on the film: 'That one has a hole in it but it won't go through. It is designed to protect the people inside. But it has still shattered the outside. I cant see out of that one.' Sportsmail can reveal that the City team bus was also attacked by fans as it left Anfield after a Premier League defeat in April 2014.
hot damn

When we come back and win this thing, the scenes will be epic. Can't wait for Tuesday. We may play the U-18s at United.

Just opening up old wounds b/w Manchester and Liverpool.

I always liked Gerrard and Kuyt and the way that old team played. I'm sick of "new Liverpool" who somehow believe they don't spend money and play a superior brand of football.
City and Liverpool fans used to get into very, very bad in the 80s and 90s, sometimes worse than United/Liverpool. City fans were usually those living in the bad estates in Burnage and other parts of Manchester, which lent itself to violence and cyclical gangs. The Guvnors were our big hooligan gang and I can see there being quite the response on Tuesday, however, The Ethiad campus doesn't lend itself to violence like the shithole that is Anfield and Liverpool.
The problem with any rivalry between us and Liverpool was our inability to beat them at Anfield...ever. New City fans forget that the Benjani game was the first time we had won at Old Trafford in like 20 years. This recent success against United has not been replicated against Merseyside teams. Everton and Liverpool have always been bogey teams for us, but honestly, most teams were!
I am happy to have an even better reason to despise Liverpool. Honestly, they had this thing planned out for weeks and wanted to cause violence. Disgusting.

You also have to look at how Manchester the last 20 years has grown and been modernized compared to Liverpool.
This puts an even bigger chip on the scouser's shoulders.

No doubt. Liverpool seems stuck in the 80s/90s. Manchester has evolved very well and continued to transform into a more modern city. People want to invest in Manchester, not Liverpool, cuz it's a shitehole.
Posted on 4/6/18 at 10:13 am to Ryne Sandberg
and tons of people from Liverpool work in Manchester, that and the universities there are top notch outside the Cambridge and Oxford ones.

by having a reasonable discussion on why the two cities hate each other
Posted on 4/6/18 at 10:58 am to StraightCashHomey21
If I wouldn’t know better after reading this I’d think Manchester is Barcelona. The city of Liverpool is shite, breaking news.

Sort of ironic that Liverpool plays modern football and United plays pragmatic.
