Feel bad for Juve. Ronaldo is the difference, but Madrid were remarkably poor. Zidane set up the team like a retard.
and still Buffon had to play amazing

Micheal Oliver, you just knew he would frick something up, out position PK call, just sad, but typical of EPL officiating.

I left to go meet with a client when it was 0-1 and thought it would be fine, come back to my desk and it is 0-3 and in the 88th minute. Next thing I know we are getting a penalty and Buffon has a red card. One of the secretaries came ask me if I was okay because she heard me yelling. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions.

So refs don't have the benefit of that.
Regardless he did take him out from behind as well....that was a very easy penalty call in my book.
I realize that and I'm not arguing against the call. I'm just saying he instantly went down when he felt any contact.

It didn't look that bad in slow motion.
It didn't look like a wonderfully clean or safe challenge either.

I agree 100% but it looked soft in the replay.

Did I say that? A ton of plays worse than that aren't called a penalty, especially with 30 seconds left in the game.
It wasn't really a dangerous play, either, unless you're trying to tell me that guy has a sensitive nipple.

Madrid are good, but I think if they get matched up with Pool they could have problems. Madrid is well-suited for the press though.

Yea Madrid should get by them, but Zidane went full retard today.
Id love to see Liverpool vs Bayern. Bayern is the most complete side left. Defensively they could stop Liverpool and for sure could punish them on the attack.

Zidanes line up was a little sketchy today.
Still got the win.
Still shouldnt have had to worry like that had the disallowed goal would have been correct.
It all worked out though

To be frank, his decisions all season have shown his relative inexperience. I thought he blew his load early with his subs, and Juve were going to be well-positioned for ET. Also his decision to play Ronaldo central nullifies what he does to the right side of defenses, and it's no surprise that Juventus's attacks came from Madrid's left/Juventus's right. Ronaldo as a wide forward pins fullbacks to the defensive third. As a central forward his late runs are negated.

I agree with all of this. Madrid best attacking comes with Ronaldo and Bale out wide where they can fully utilize their world class pace. I've been saying since last summer that what hurt Madrid early on was selling Morata and having no true center forward to replace/back-up Benzema.
Being down Sergio and Nacho hurt, especially when the guy filling in for them was making his 9th appearance in all competitions.

an English team getting this far is good, but time for the train to stop
