Moyes coming for everyone's neck.

Shame they no longer play at the Boleyn Ground.

I guess. But the extra 25k Hammer fans are probably glad to be there. Plus, it’s allowed them to make and then spend more money which has put them in a position that they’ve rarely been in.

Financially the move makes sense, but the atmosphere from those close to the pitch old grounds can't be beat though.

No doubt. But if WHU keeps winning the fans will learn to love it and give it its own character.

The Hillsborough Disaster in Sheffield, perhaps more than any other factor, permanently changed the character of English football grounds. Gone are Millwall's Old Den, Sunderland's Roker Park, Middlesbrough's Ayresome Park and Stoke's Victoria Ground. The Taylor Report essentially institutionalized all-seater stadiums for large English clubs. Moves like West Ham's were a natural consequence of attendance being tied to a set capacity. I wish it was easier to watch the lower leagues of English football, non-league football and the cup competitions here in the states so that your average fan could get a glimpse of the traditional grounds.

The Taylor Report

Agree with what you wrote, but there have been rumblings of bringing back safe standing areas. I know Spurs' new stadium is designed for it.
