Likewise, starting Gerrard at the base of a 2-man midfield sets him up for failure. Yes he was shite today and should start on the bench if Roy is hellbent on that dumb arse formation

England failing doesn't make Rodgers' achievements any less. It is ok to say England sucked.

England's the best at what?

Being a country. The only other country even close is Germany but England always kicks their arse when they try and assert themselves.

Italy over Costa Rica
England by 2 over Costa Rica
Italy over Uruguay

Tough. But not impossible.

England really isn't THAT out of it.

All England needs to do is beat Costa Rica by two (not exactly an impossibility), have Italy beat Costa Rica (this should happen), and Italy beat Uruguay (probably the most uncertain of the three things that need to happen, but also a good chance). I definitely wouldn't count on England advancing, but us advancing in the Confed Cup in 09 was much more unlikely, and that happened, so...

Yep.... some nifty footwork to get by like 3 Uruguay defenders.

And I thought that late attempt by him was going in... Muslera was as good as Ive seen him today.

They aren't at all. If the favored team wins the three remaining group games England will almost certainly go through.

Unless England and Italy only beat CR by 1 goal each.

By that you mean he didn't have a howler. He sucks. I wish so bad Sturridge had been more aware at that little ball that rolled through to him in the first couple of min that he somehow spilled.

Christ what an infantile understanding of reality. Look at any measure of wealth and standard of living and you will find countries ahead of the UK. It's a nice country but let's not be stupid because England are not very good at football. Everyone has known that for a long time.
