Man what a terrible way to give up a goal. Just so unnecessary.
Ugh, just watched it again. So many frick ups in one play or we would have gotten out without giving up the away goal.

The problem was a square ball against a high block. Christensen has shown himself comfortable in possession this season, but he screwed up twice doing things that no CB at this level should do. The first pass in the 1st half that led to a corner should have given him the awareness that playing square passes when you are in the low block is always a dangerous proposition.

Hindsight 20/20 but that first one was just a horrendous pass, the second one obviously ended up being not worth the risk but the fact Cesc didn't go for it and then Azpi somehow didn't get there and then took himself out of the play with the slide would have been hard to foresee.
With that said, up a goal, and them hardly threatening when we had a chance to organize behind the ball just the kick the damn thing as far as you can and reset.
F me it pisses me off so much every time I think about it. Such a good performance wasted by one ridiculous play.

Yeah. Christensen should have kicked it downfield and taken advantage of the high block. Retaining possession was not paramount in that situation, which came right off the back of the Suarez moment.
Chelsea had the right set-up though, and Willian was amazing.

You are, but never underestimate the UEFA factor when playing at the Camp Nou. It is very real.
