You hate to see it

Also.. they didn’t get fricked by VAR I don’t think. The goal was never given per the announcers. VAR just confirmed it.

Sorry City, sorry you hate the rules of the game. Learn to play the right way.

TOTAL frickING bullshite
quote:Bizarre. The infraction on the Saints call was missed. The infraction on that call was caught. Nonsense to compare the two.
Wow that reminded me of the Saints no call. Came here just to respond to that bs call

That was nowhere close to as bad as the Saints call.
I thought it was until I just saw the replay again. First few passes I didn’t see it touch Man City’s atm AT ALL. thought if anything it was tottenhams arm that was actually outreached but I suppose it may have happened to hit Man City’s shoulder even though it was in a natural position so I guess technically it wasn’t as bad as the saints no cal.
It was still the wrong call though

It's like the opposite of the Saints call, because by rule it was right... saints was a blown call, this is a shitty rule
Posted on 8/17/19 at 1:31 pm to Tigerfan7218
Yeah it’s not the same at all, fine. They just got fricked was my point

If it hits anywhere on the arm, regardless of intent or position, it isn’t supposed to stand.
They changed it this season.

No it wasn't... it 100% hit Laporte's arm, and by rule that's the right call... argue the shittiness of the rule, and it's definitely shitty, but the call is right

So close, yet so VAR away

I'm curious how far they're going to take the rule, like the next kick I believe was Jesus putting the ball in... if there was a pass in between would it have stood? Like what is considered to "lead to a goal"?
Posted on 8/17/19 at 1:36 pm to Tigerfan7218
My guess is anywhere in the possession from which the goal was scored.
Posted on 8/17/19 at 1:36 pm to pvilleguru
Yeah we have seen them go like 3-4 passes back before in champions league VAR.
