I honestly don’t watch any MLS and agree the league has expanded way too much.
However, am I the only one that’s very optimistic for the upcoming talent pool being created in the MLS academies? The kids getting to the age of signing professional contracts are the first generation that were able to play starting at a very young age at academies all over the US. Of course the studs are still hopefully heading to Europe but this will continue to deepen the talent pool here.

No you aren't allowed to say anything positive about MLS.

I think the major issue is that second and third level domestic player that stays in MLS
The quality really hasn’t improved and there is no incentive for top young Americans to stay home.
It really never works out well for the guys who stay

An MLS team lost a two-legged tie to a Haitian team. Thoughts Ghost?

It was dumb of them to play mostly B players on an away tie in the Caribbean. That's on them. MLS is the reigning CCL and Campeones Cup holders. Real Madrid lost to a team that doesn't even have a recognized country last year. Sometimes clubs screw up by not respecting their competition.

Im optimistic I will get better. And will dominate CONCAVAG. But don’t ever see it rivaling the top 5 leagues in world.
Hopefully I’m wrong.
I’m cool with it being a respected feeder league of young US talent as well as a pipeline to Europe similar to shaktar donesk.
It be cool to get more loan players from the big clubs of Europe.
And will always dream of pro/reg
A model of pro/reg that is like to see. Instead of regulating the team(name jersey and all). Just regulate the players on the team. MLS would be the top flight LIGA MX would be second division.
If your team get regulated you pack up the entire team and they live and play for their minor league MX club.
Imagine the scenes

I’ve read this a few times but I’m still confused. What quality do you think is not improving?

The American players who don’t make it over seas
That’s the quality that needs to get better
That will help improve MLS

reigning CCL
And lost right away in the Club World Cup
Also cost them big time domestically bc they don’t have the depth to compete on multiple fronts. Something you keep ignoring

Campeones Cup
Dude no one cares about that money grab game, don’t pound your chest like it’s an MLS badge of honor
It’s just used to fill up an American stadium with Mexican fans
Just like the Leagues Cup

Big game. Hostile crowd. Good for MLS.

This makes SCH argument hold up. A MLS team regardless of playing a B team should be able to beat a team full of carpenters and plumbers over 2 legs.
MLS could really advance and be the best league in the Americas in the future but Don Garber wants parity with the stupid fricking rules. The Cosmos were 40 years ago bro, let it go and let the teams spend what they want.

Quote me where I said B team depth was the strength of MLS. I'll hang up and listen.
Posted on 3/15/23 at 6:26 pm to GhostofJackson
For sure a top team in MLS that won’t get relegated in Europe has the depth to compete in the CCL
Posted on 3/15/23 at 6:41 pm to StraightCashHomey21
Dude you keep on talking about depth. We're talking about 40 games or so at most over the course of 44 weeks. Not the 60 games or so city is playing. If MLS teams are bad as you say they'd be bounced first round of the cup. I'm done discussing this with you. Never admit you are just out against MLS. Once again you would be the guy spamming laughing emojis in 2012 if someone posted MLS fees wood 8x in a decade. You've always got an excuse.

You absolutely need depth across a 40 game season in the top leagues.

So you are just forgetting the playoffs, CCL, US Open cup and Leagues Cup
Managers have already said it’s going to be record amount of games played this season
They want roster size expanded but the owners voted no. Because a majority of them are cheap and have no real interest in being competitive and they know there is no penalty for being shitty. But you don’t want to talk about that…
They would rather expand the league and make the depth even worse
Why do you keep ignoring these points
Get your head out the sand

I was going to MLS matches before you even knew anything about the sport. I enjoy watching it and have supported DC United from the very start of the league
You just have these crazy beliefs about the league and it’s actually comical

No, but do you want to have an actual discussion about why the fees have gone up. The truth of it essentially a Ponzi scheme might be too much for you.

Please list them……

Its also fairly objective to say outside the Prem a top MLS can stay out of the relegation zone.
Just being honest, if you or anyone argues that the top MLS team would not get relegated or in a fight for their life to stay in the league in one of the top five leagues (PL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga or Ligue Un) I will call you out. They could survive in Holland or Portugal. As SCH said, the depth of MLS teams is a major issue. It's just a shame that parody is preferred keeping teams that could push to that next level into quicksand.
I was optimistic at first that MLS would be rid of the rules around 10 years ago but it looks like it's here to stay for the foreseeable future. It's like a Porsche that is stuck in 2nd gear.........waiting to be unleashed but stuck with a novice driver.
