Only 4 total not based in NA. 1 experimental guy, 2 young guns, and 1 guy that could use this tournament to stake a claim at inclusion in rosters that really matter.

Because it plays a part in who gets the next Confederations Cup bid.

Also, we didn't even make it to the finals of the last one. Jamaica beat us, not Mexico. Plus, we could probably use an overall confidence builder

I wonder how we'll approach the warm up game against ghana. I'd assume we'd approach it the same way we did with tonight's game.

Last cycle was the old format. Summer of 2011 remember when Gio dos santos made Tim Howard look stupid? Mexico went to Brazil in 2013

False... the 2013 & 2015 Gold Cups were under this current format.

I wonder if Christian Ramirez isn't yet good enough to get a call up or if Minnesota didn't want to release him in their inaugural season.

Ok whatever. USA won in 2013 and yet Mexico are still in Russia leading me to believe the old format was still being used. The USA can't beat Mexico in a match that matters so I doubt I'll watch much of this gold cup
