BREAKING: Premier League clubs have voted to change the summer transfer window deadline back to September the 1st.

good decision... a much as I hate the distraction after the season starts, two months to get deals done is plenty.. as long as other leagues have this deadline.. its a no brainer..

That experiment didn’t last long

Yeah, pretty sure it seemed like most managers were against it this summer

It was a stupid rule change to begin with. Put ever team in the League at a disadvantage with not only time but leverage

Yep and look at the quality of the league this year
It’s way down other than Liverpool
Makes no sense English clubs can’t strengthen their squad while the rest of Europe can

Having teams set at the start of the year remains a desirable goal vs the uncertainty of that first month, so I appreciate the EPL for trying
But if the other leagues aren't on board then it doesn't make sense to be self-sabotaging
I'd still like to see UEFA pressure the leagues to set a uniform early date

Just because Liverpool is dragging their nuts across everyone’s face doesn’t mean the league is down.
All four teams in the Champions League made the knockout round. All three teams in the Europa League made the round of 32.

The league is extremely down this year
The gap from 4th to 14th is pretty damn close, usually by now the top six, maybe eight have separated themselves

What a dumb fricking decision in the first place.

Parity=/=weak
It can be argued it is the opposite. You can’t Take a week off because anyone can beat you.
The only objective way to measure a leagues strength is how it does in European tournaments.

No it shows all the teams are basically at the same level, the quality of play outside Liverpool and City is bad and most teams have not put up a fight vs those two.

Thats not true at all, it can be used as one metric but not the only one. Madrid was wrecking Europe and La Liga was a 2 maybe 3 team league. Same with Bayern in Germany. Thats a pretty weak stance. English teams advancing to the knockout stages is expected due to how much money they spend compared to the opposition they face. The league from 3/4 until 12/14 is just not good as it usually is. That doesn't mean its still not better than the other european leagues, but by the EPL's usual standard it is down.
You seem to be defensive like people want to diminish Liverpool's title. Its well deserved as they dominated the league. But the league is down this year.

You absolutely want to diminish Liverpool’s domination this year. Madrid or Bayern running the UCL is only one team. Every single Premiership team has advanced.
We will see what happens in the next round but for now we the league is holding its own in Europe.
What league is stronger?

I think 3-6 are down compared to most years, but overall the league seems as strong as ever.. but I also think we're just that good, too...

You clearly can't read
No one is trying to down play their dominance
If anything it really highlights how great of a job the Liverpool football decision makers and Klopp have done to create such a gap in quality between them and the rest of the league.
English teams the standard for them is to advance b/c how much more they spend than the other teams they face in Europe. When one does not get out of the group stage its a big deal. Bringing up they got out of the group is pounding your chest for meeting the basic expectation.

fricks sake learn how to read.

The overall consensus esp in the media is that its down by its usual standards. But one thing though is the teams promoted in this season seem to have way more quality that most promoted teams in their first year.
