I mean I would definitely prefer our selected player pool to consist of players that actually lived here or on a base abroad rather than someone that was born here and then left ASAP.
But this is for the purpose of competition. Nations and cultures aren't immutable. Similar scenarios are exceedingly common for pretty much every developed country. Building an environment where dual-nationals, who are often choosing teams as a way to boost their own careers, want to be is a good thing, because situations like this will become more common, not less.

Clint Dempsey
Unused Subs:
Brad Guzan

I think everyone on that list largely grew up in the US.

Omar González should have played for Mexico.

Agreed. That’s why I said I’m glad he chose us. What I prefer is not what should be implemented, that’s just my preference.

After looking into a few of those players, I knew Feilhaber wasn't born here, but did not know that his grandfather was Jewish and fled from Austria to Brazil to escape the Nazis in 1938. Benny moved from Brazil to the US when he was 6.

Yeah, that’s how he was able to get into Europe without issue.

I'll just use this opportunity to once again say frick Bruce Arena for starting Besler and Omar over Geoff Cameron.

What was wrong with starting Besler? He was fast and had been really solid for us. He's not the one that had an OG.

I look at him as a mercenary. Don’t really have an issue with it. We outsource shite all the time

I’m glad you don’t make the standards for our National Team.
I almost feel like you’re haunted by the German born players who maybe you felt like didn’t care. I don’t think this is the same.
