The artwork was put on display on Sunday at the World Youth Forum (WYF) being held in Sharm al-Sheikh. It depicts the striker with his arms out wide in the goalscoring celebration he is known for.

But people have suggested it looks more like singer Leo Sayer or Marv the burglar from the film Home Alone.

Between this, the Ronaldo statue, and the terrible statues of Usain Bolt, Andy Murray, and Michael Essien, I can't tell if so many high profile statues are designed by untalented hacks who couldn't pass an AP Art class or if the guy who did the LeMieux statue is the greatest artist of all time by making a solid athletic sculpture.

How were statues made hundreds of years ago so detailed and perfect? These new statues have the benefit of 3d modeling and printing and computer aided design and they look like complete shite.

Art is a lost form.
