When you are on the road away from the TV and Allison Achilles is trending on twitter during the game.
It gave me a near coronary.

I was in Park City, UT and talked to a couple of big fans there---were everywhere!

Reports that Roma are in talks to sign Lovren for around €15m. Not sure I’d feel comfortable giving him up just yet.

ETA: Lovren also did not travel for Wesnesday’s match due to “illness”. Think he’s gone.

I agree. I'm less concerned with the depth, as Fabinho, Hoever and the Dutch Ginger are available in a pinch (though I'd rather Fab in the MF, and he's also kind of our cover at RB), and much more concerned with Mo losing his pal.

Klopp places such a huge priority on locker room cohesion, I really don't want to see another popular player go through the door. Losing Moreno, Sturridge, Mignolet and Lovren all in one window leaves a pretty big personality void. Not that Klopp hasn't thought about all this, just concerning from the outside looking in.

They're big boys.

If it means he's playing and going to Mo's old club, I think they'll be fine.

Don't think anyone would perceive it as us "selling" Lovren off, he just wants/needs to play. No point in having him rot on the bench and playing small comp games when a younger player with more potential could be gaining that experience.

Youngster Hoever selected to the 23-man Supercup squad.

Also youngsters Brewster and 16-yr old Elliot.

Did Chelsea win the Europa?
Is that why we are playing this game
does it really mean anything?

Yes.

Means about the same as the Community Shield (EPL and FA Cup champions, or in this year's case, because the same team won each, the EPL runner up).

It's a real trophy and I'd imagine both teams field a pretty strong lineup.

It means less than any of the big tournaments/competitions, but more than a pre-season cup (see Tottenham's trophy case for examples).

Liverpool are one game into the season, and already Alisson has done his calf muscle and now Naby Keita has pulled up in training.

The news broke last night that our Guinean, likely set for a start against Chelsea in the Super Cup this evening, had to leave the Attaturk Stadium during Liverpool’s pre-match training session.

Be prepared for more hand-wringing this year.

We'll probably have some league games where a 17 year old CB is paired with a 18 year old LB with a 16 year old winger helping them cover wide.

And that doesn't take into account the injury history of our midfield, lol (Ox, Lalana, Keita, Henderson all miss plenty of time)

fricking hell, man, has Keita slotted into the “constantly injured” role formerly filled by Sturridge?

Was Keita hurt a lot last year? I’m not remembering him being hurt that much. Got hurt at Barcelona and wasn’t allowed to heal because of AFCON. When else did he get hurt?

I remember him being out with nagging injuries a couple times. Remember when he went down untouched early on in the season? Forget who it was against and what the issue ended up being.

Yes. He had at least 3 injuries last season. Causing him to essentially miss about 9 league games.

Not impressed with the back-line thus far but, in their partial defense, this Hendo-Fabs-Milner midfield is invisible.

Firmino is missed. Someone in the midfield to carry the ball from the back is missed as well.

Would have subbed for Milly and not Ox and then slid Ox back to MF, but just happy that Bobby is on.
