U.S. Soccer extends contract of USMNT interim head coach Dave Sarachan

Per The Athletic (you need a subscription to read the article). looks like the extension is through the end of the year.

It's through the end of the year, but doesn't prevent them hiring a new guy before then. We already have 4 games schedules in the next few months and we're adding 2 more. Just making sure that when September rolls around, we at least have someone in charge

Yes, but this is going to depress turnout quite a bit.

Yeah this is fine. It's basically just extending his interim clause until Earnie gets on board on August 1st and hires his man. Nothing wrong with this

Are there any solid rumors as to who we maybe specifically eyeing and/or our approach with the hiring process (leaning internationally vs. domestic)?
