why not go after Tuchel who has a better resume? the man won a champions league. i think the only knock out competition poch has won was the coupe de france but psg is expected to win those. terrible hire.

lol at calling this a terrible hire. It’s probably the best hire we could have made.

I can't believe this happened. I'm excited about the USMNT again.

Players can't blame shitty coaching anymore

Same. Is this the best hire ever for the USMNT? I hope I don't eat those words, because people said that about Jurgen too. But he did not have a track record for coaching like Poch.

I think they knew the stakes with the WC here in 2026 and olympics in 2028. This is the best opportunity in US soccer history to grow the game in the states.

Semifinals is the minimum expectation for me. I look at South Korea in 2002 as how a home side in the WC should perform.

Let’s not get carried away here. :)

It's a pretty low hurdle to clear but he is by far the most accomplished coach we have ever hired

I wonder what this means for Gio?

I have been firmly in the “he needs to be in the starting XI” camp because he seems to bring something that most players in our pool can’t, but even I have to admit that it is FAR less than desirable that he doesn’t crack the starting lineup at his clubs most times.

His results in the red/white/blue are undeniable, but there is a standard that SHOULD be set… are we as a nation to the point with our player pool where it is REASONABLE to set that standard yet?

Do we have that level of depth, or do we continue to just put the best players we have in the starting XI based on talent?

Yep. Any way you slice it, this is the level of coach USMNT had to get to keep up excitement for WC. I think it’s a great hire… now get out of his way, and let him go.

Who else in our pool can pick out a pass and break down a low block? I don't think there is anyone else. For us to make any type of deep run, he has to be the one pulling the strings. It sure isn't Adams, Musah, or McKennie. That isn't their game at all.

Gents we fricking did it. We didn't hire a complete waste of air. The USMNT did something right!

Think about that. After completely botching...everything, the last decade almost, they did something right.

I'm fricking stoked, and can't wait to lay it on the rest of the world!

Who could they have realistically hired that’s better than him?

This guy took Tottenham to a 2nd place finish in the EPL, and finished top 4 most seasons.

Also took Tottenham to a Champions League final.

See, this is why I rarely post on the soccer board, because of straight out lies from a huge volume POS poster.

You show me one post I said I did not like this hire. One fricking post is all I ask. You are a worthless slimy good for nothing troll. You were probably too busy hoisting your pride flag to properly read.
