Yeah CC is fricking stupid for wording it the way he did. Could have gotten the same point across without saying something that would get him in hot water. And yeah been busy following corona shite and missed this story

I don't think he's the one that worded it that way.

I think the argument has a decent chance of winning in court, depending on the judge, but it was bound to get hammered by the court of public opinion.

you would think an ultra liberal like you would be able to see the blatant sexism

I don't think they can vote for a new president until February 2021. Cindy Cone will likely will likely cave into most of the USWNT's demands and this won't be an issue a year from now.

They hired a legal team that specializes in this kind of stuff. If they can show that the women and men have different jobs, then they could possibly win. It's still a horrible look.

anyone with common sense knows its not the same game

but the way he had them present it comes off sexist as shite and does nothing but gives the WNT the upper hand in the law suit.

But you still have to make the argument in court, otherwise you can't use it.

There's not a way to say they are different games without coming off as sexist.

Your options are either give them the same contract you give the men, or sound sexist in court.

Saying the level of competition works, saying revenue generated in non world cup or victory tour years would work.

flat out saying they are not as skilled is a terrible stance

Bringing up the subsidized league would be my major talking point.

A big win for the ladies would be getting USSF to get rid of the requirement making them play in the domestic league. Let the ladies get paid overseas on a full time basis and a lot of this probably goes away.

I don't think that would work at all. The women would just say that the USSF markets them differently, different ticket prices, different cities, sponsorships aren't broken out by gender, etc.

I don't think that would work, either. This is strictly about what they pay the women to play for them.

All the idiot had to do is compare pay as a % of revenue and / or net profit and there should be no question of why they are paid what they are. They are entertainers and their pay is based on their value. It doesn’t matter how skilled or good one team is vs the other in the end. If the men bring in $100 million a year in profit and the women bring in $1 million, then It’s obvious who should be paid more, and vise versa. It’s all about money. There is no “equal pay” in this industry. It’s like arguing that singer of The Darkness should be paid more than Chance the rapper because he is a better vocalist.

markets them differently, by making up competitions to host games stateside for the gate revenue. all while holding the networks arms behind their back by tying the two teams together in TV deals. as far as I can tell, the field is already tilted

He's everything the USSF powers that be aren't. No way they bring him in, he would actually get shite done that the fans have been begging for. He would bring in accountability, USSF ain't for that shite.
