The cure would be to start carding these frickers that holler like they’ve been shot or go down every time they get touched.

Or, you know, keeping time like every other sport.

Right I understand that, but it’s been proven over and over that you don’t get back all the time another team wastes. If a goalie takes 15 seconds to go get the ball and kick it, a player stays down for 45 seconds, and the team wasting time takes 30 seconds to get the ball and take a free kick. You will not get another 1:30 after the allotted stoppage time. Just never happens that way. And that’s compounded from earlier time wasting. I’m telling you right now if you have a clock stopping when a player goes down or ball is not in play, you get closer to getting that time back. Games would unfortunately be longer, maybe allow more subs, I dunno. But the way it is now, teams just start wasting MORE time in the MORE stoppage time

They aren't just arbitrarily adding on more time. They are adding on more time per stoppage of play. So all wasting more time will do is add more time later.

Stopping the clock isnt gonna stop guys from rolling around. They are doing that to get a call.

FIFA made a push to for a full 90 minutes of actual play.

No, you do not get the time back, I know they put a little plus symbol up there to make you feel better but statistically you do not get the same amount of time back that’s been wasted due to wasting time during stoppage time. You might get back half of it. The actual stoppage time number might be in good faith and close, but of a +6 they probably play for 3 minutes and waste MORE time during it. The moment that clock hits 6 minutes the whistling starts and the ref feels that pressure. You don’t get it back. If you think that’s nit picky, then that’s a different argument, but we’ve seen it time and again, example like +6, people roll around for half of it and the ref ends the game at +6:01. You know exactly what I’m talking about

Yeah this is more accurate but it’s probably a little of both. At least it would curb the guys who need the stretcher and then hop off it on the side lines to run back to midfield to come back on.

We havent seen that this world cup. Every single game has went longer than the added on extra time by over a minute due to them adding on that time too. They are doing things differently for the world cup and i think more leagues are planning to adopt it.

I’ll concede that the WC has been better than what I see in club play, so if they’re making that change then that’s the right direction. If Costa Rica gets a lead here we can certainly test the theory

In fact I’ll test out my theory by starting a stop watch whenever the ball isn’t in play

Technically the 4th Official already does this. The added time he displays is the minimum and the Ref may add more at their discretion.

Simply from restarts and goal celebrations plus the penalty I had +8. So it’s pretty subjective

They need to add a 3rd color card, rainbow fig colored. For those faking injuries, show the fig card and you have to be out for 10 minutes. Get a 2nd fig card sit 20 minutes. 3rd in one game you get fig and red card.

I don't have a problem with the larger amount of added time in this tournament, but if the score is 6-0 at the end of 90', there's no need for another 8' of added time. Just look the other way and end it like we've always done.

ETA: 7-0 now at 90+3'

The solution would be a start stop time.
