Out of the 23 Saturday, only 2 play outside of Liga MX or MLS.

is it just me, or is this something that wouldn't surprise me even if it was for a qualifier? It's not like 90 percent of our A squad plays in Europe.

>50% of our starting line up is in Europe.

And I expect 75% of our 23 man roster to be in Europe within the next 2-3 years.

Of what I would consider every game starters, 2 play in the EPL and 4 play in the Bundesliga. That's at least over half.

You seemed pretty sure of yourself in saying there won't be one.

I'm not even sure some of the guys that played would even be our B team.

Maybe an MLS B-team.

The Ghana win may have been a little misleading. Dwyer's first appearance and subsequent first goal was a big boost that eventually led to a win vs an African team essentially on vacation in the US. Ghana fielded a couple NASLer's. That's pretty bad. Outside of Gyan, that wasn't the Ghana team we are used to seeing.

Outside of Dwyer, Acosta, Villafana and maybe a couple more I'm not thinking of, this is not even close to our best or second best team.

All that being said - If we don't reach the final, it should be considered a massive failure.

Gonzalez is probably one of our top 4 CBs.

Acosta, Villafana, Guzan, and Omar are likely locks to be on the World Cup roster, and Dwyer is close to locking a spot up IMO.

Acosta & Villafana are the only possible starters on this team and neither are locks. Well, Guzan too, I guess (yikes). We should still beat Panama though.

If we take 4 CBs to the WC, I hope EPB or CCV can take the 4th spot. That's assuming we're taking Brooks, Cameron, and Omar.

He was pretty good against Panama.

EPB needs to gtfo KC.

I'd love for that to happen, but do either of these two actually play for their clubs?

EPB could also fill in as a DCM. Pretty versatile player.

Whatever happened to Miazga? Doesn't he at least play when he's a part of the loan army?

CCV and EPB both need to find somewhere where they are getting consistent playing time. Center back does look like our deepest position right now.

He was. He's always just seemed like a bit of a CONCACAF/Gold Cup all star to me. I've seen him in goal for Villa & Middlesbrough the past couple years and I feel like I can confidently say he can't be trusted in a big game against real teams.

CB looks good, and I doubt we would need 4 CBs at the WC, which is why I'm ok with that 4th spot going to a young guy just for the experience. But we're also starting to get some really good depth on the wings as well.

He played 35 total games with Vitesse.
