Considering Geoff Cameron goes, we will bring three others because he can slot in back there.

You absolutely want at least four guys who can play centrally in defense on the roster.

We've used 4 CBs at 2 of the last 3 World Cups, be it due to injury, performance or red card.

2014: Cameron, Besler, Brooks, Gonzalez

2010: Gooch, DeMerit, Bocanegra

2006: Gooch, Pope, Conrad, Bocanegra

Yes, and I listed 4. With our lack of LBs, i think we would also bring someone like Ream that could play LB and CB. That would give us at least 5 options at CB if shite really hit the fan.

We did in 2014, but we didn't need to. That was just Jurgen being Jurgen.

Didn't Besler get hurt?

He was subbed off against Ghana because of injury (I think. He played in our next game) and we put in Brooks. We subbed in Gonzalez in stoppage time against Portugal as a DM (I think). I don't think we had to sit any CBs because of card accumulation, and the only injury was Besler in the first game but he was able to finish the tournament.

This is who I bring if the deadline for rosters was today.

GK (3): Howard, Guzan, Horvath
D (8): Yedlin, Cameron, Brooks, Villafana, Gonzalez, Hedges, Chandler, Lichaj
M (8): Pulisic, Fab, Bradley, Acosta, Nagbe, Arriola, Jones, Williams
F (4): Altidore, Wood, Dempsey, Dwyer

Extremely heavy with defensive/holding mids, especially when you consider that Cameron could play that role as well and ideally I'd like to bring in another attacking mid in place of Williams or Jones, but we don't really have anyone in the pool that provides world cup level quality at that spot.

It's probably safe to say you can bring Lletget instead of Arriola since it isn't until next summer.

Or in place of Williams or Jones.

And Saief could be useful as well, since he can also play LB if needed.

I think an argument can be made that Arriola is better than a healthy Lletget.

We've seen 15 minutes of him... I'm not ready to put him above Lletget or Arriola in the winger pecking order.

Out of the three, I would rather Lletget and Arriola than Jones.

I'm not throwing Jones away until we've used every ounce left of him... Even at his age, he still covers the most ground of any player we have (that can be good and bad) and we need his nastiness.

Looks like he's torn a knee ligament. I'll wait to see if he can come back from it at 35 years old.

Yup, Jones has to be completely cooked before I take him off the 23.

At least you didn't go and sit through it.

It was 98 fricking degrees and miserable. We looked so unbelievably shitty. It was almost as embarrassing as our neck beard abe lincoln dressing "ultras". SMDH.

Worst game experience of my whole life minus the 2010 Liberty Bowl.
