I remembered hearing the NAMES Pasarella, Beckenbauer, and Toni Schmacher, in 1978. Watched the final in 1982 when Paolo Rossi scored to beat the West Germans.
Watched or listened on radio to damn near all of 1986, and all in thereafter every four years. Went to Dallas for part of group round, second round, and quarter final matches. Saw Klinsmann score a masterpiece volley from the corner of the box against South Korea. I think the afternoon was the hottest thing I've ever experienced.
That quarter between Netherlands and Brazil was for the ages. Five goals all in the last fifteen minutes. Wowza.

Still the best soccer game of all time.
Still the video game I've put the most hours into.
Pissing the night away...

I remember watching the 90' cup and the final in particular. I was able to attend all games played in Orlando 94' and watch/tape every single game. Obsessed since!

Yep, we taped every single '94 game - I can remember specifically going to buy the 8 hour VHS tapes so that we could get 4 group games on each tape.
Damn, I might have to do a search soon for wherever the hell those are.

1999 women team winning World Cup in PKs and Brandi taking her top off. Was 8 then and recall all world cups since. 2002 WC was awesome to watch LD lead us to quarters in Korea

Here's a spinoff question. What was the first English language broadcast of a Euro Championship or Copa America that you guys watched?
Besides Euro 2000 on PPV, I don't recall any coverage except Univision until 2008.
As for Copas, I don't recall anything in English until 2016 with the Centenario.

Probably the 2016 version of both of them.
Maybe the 2012 Euros but I don't really remember it. But I know 2016 was the 1st Copa America that I ever watched.

Espn had really good coverage of Euro 2008 and 2012, showing every game. Nothing at all for 2004 though.

The first soccer jersey I ever bought was a Euro 08 Robben one. Still have it.

Remember me saying I had a descrambler in the mid-late 90s into the 2000s....So Copa '99 was the first for me. I remember there was a big gripe about Martin Palermo leading Argentina with a young Riquelmae
Euro 2000 was the emergence of Portugal's "Golden Generation" and England crashed out in the group stages...and France won on a LAAAATE in extra time equalizer by Sylvain Wiltord abd a golden goal by Trezeguet...wow I remember it like yesterday.

World Cup '94, specifically the Round of 16 match between Brazil and the US.

'98.
I think about the '06 (sitting in a hotel in Sand Diego watching the Ghana match) and '10 (I watched the Final in two pubs - don't ask- in Dublin) World Cups much more often.
