David Beckham's famous goal from mid-pitch stuck out to me as badass at 8 or 9 so I was always a Manchester United fan. Sucks when people come at me about it, but frick 'em, a fan's a fan.

No shite. Who says "Elijah Wood was great as a creepy little bitch in LotR. Let's make him a badass!"?

Used to just watch soccer just to watch. Didn't really keep up with club associations and what not.
Started following Fulham when McBride signed there, and have at least "watched with admiration" as McBride, Bocanegra, Keller, Dempsey and Donovan all spent time there.
But I was drawn to Chelsea, largely because of Arjen Robben. I had HEARD about him, but as soon as I saw him play, I was drawn to that style.... a pacy, tricky winger.
The next season, Chelsea added Joe Cole, Damian Duff and Shawn Wright Phillips, all players of a similar mold.
So, I got to watch players that played the position I like to play, week in and week out, and there you go. Duff, SWP and Robben are all gone, and Cole probably will be as well. But I've grown to enjoy watching Essien and Mikel, and Ashley Cole, and watch Drogba turn into a beast that doesn't flop EVERY time he gets touched.
And I hope Donovan goes there in the fall.

I still haven't made my choice yet. Live in Dallas, but the team plays in Frisco, too far and NOT in my town, went to games when they were at the Cotton Bowl.
As far as Euro ball, used to follow Tottenham when Davids played, but haven't picked up a premiership team since. Still not enough coverage here to pick one up and watch with any regularity.
Been to an FC Barcelona match in BCN, not impressed with Spanish soccer, not as tough as Premiership and Bundesliga.

Chelsea was my FIFA team, but that seems too bandwagon-y. I like Hull City because of Altidore and because I may do a semester abroad there.
And Columbus Crew, since I was born and raised in Ohio.

I'd rather walk alone than be with Scousers. The best fans in football? Now that is a laugh. More like the most despicable fan base in the world.

And I only referenced us having as many titles as the Scouse scum so to differentiate us from the Yankees, whom have more titles by far than anyone else in baseball.

I'm actually looking for a team to start pulling for in the EPL...any suggestions? I don't want to pull for any of the "Big 4" just because I don't want to be considered a bandwagon kind of guy. Any good suggestions with good reasons? I wouldn't mind finding a team that has a good history of signing American players.

AS Roma because they hate Man Utd fans and attack them with knives.
AS Roma Ultras have stabbed a few more Liverpool fans recently than manU. West Ham came prepared to kick arse though so guess I'd have to say they'd be my choice if I had to pick an EPL team.
Seriously though, I've been an AS Roma fan since I started dating a girl from Rome and eventually moved there in 1998. Also a fan of the Rossoblu of Cagliari. Been to a lot of matches of both.

The Crew, for obvious reasons.
Liverpool, because I just really enjoyed watching Torres/Gerrard play, before I was a fan, and I wanted to be a fan of a good, but not "elite" (i.e. Chelsea/Man U) team. I might soon be changing my EPL allegiance, though.

I don't consider them in that same class. They've never even won the league in my lifetime.

They won the Champions League a few years ago.
