Birmingham Legion: My buddy started the team.

Inter: Just recently decided to stop waffling and pick a team. Love Italy in general and learning Italian led me to want to pick a serie a team. Still love the crusaders jersey and didn’t want to come off as a bandwagon Juventus fan.

Tottenham - because of Deuce initially. I knew very little about premier league soccer before NBC started their coverage. Once they started their coverage back in 2013 or so it became part of my early morning sat/sun routine. I familiarized myself with more of the clubs & players, but still wasn’t really a fan of any one team.

When Clint Dempsey joined Tottenham he was obviously an American I knew and liked, so naturally I made an effort to watch their games. While his time with them was short lived I watched more of their games becoming acquainted with the other players and it just grew from there. It helped that they weren’t really viewed as a big time club so it didn’t have a bandwagon feel to it, but they were historically decent enough that they could actually win games and it wasn’t an exercise in futility rooting for them...as an Aggie fan I’ve already got that covered.

I had a Scotland/London trip planned over Xmas a few years ago, and was able to get Tottenham/united tickets for a match at White hart Lane. Had a great time, and have followed them ever since.

It’s a fair assumption

I do find watching Soccer very comparable to College Dootball
Maybe it’s because I too root for a shite team
But it’s much more fun win or lose and a lot of drinking

For the MLS guys that root for a team that isn’t local, but there’s a possibility that one comes. Would you jump?

If NOLA got a team I would be all in from day 1, but I would still root for OSSC. I think I would eventually phase out OSSC naturally.

My freshman year of college was 2003-04. One of my best friends was a Liverpool fan and another was a United fan. I wanted to support a team where I could hate both of them, so I chose City.

That's almost exactly why I'm a Red Wings fan.

Rubin Kazan because their security made women strip entirely naked before a match with Spartak.

when I was a little kid my German grandfather came to visit and gave me this toy bear thing with a BVB hat on. that's pretty much it.

it was also very attractive to me that the Westfalonstadion was so big. the Klopp years made me fall in love with the club again, and it'll never leave now

I wanted to watch more soccer after the 2014 World Cup.

It wasn't really because of Tim Howard but it's a lot harder to explain "well I read about a bunch of clubs and my buddy is a United fan and always liked Everton and recommended them and I liked the history and I'm used to being a fan of the overlooked club in the same city/state so it was a good fit"

so I just say "because of Tim Howard"

When Leeds got promoted I started following Everton because what Moyes did with that ragtag 2004-05 will go down as one of the most overachieving feats I’ve seen. Obviously not quite Leicester in 15/16 but that Leicester squad would’ve beaten the dogshit out of 04/05 Everton. Tomas Gravesen TYFYS
